I saw a post on another thread referring to brain worms, and I thought we could be evil and list them here.
My wife was quite nasty this morning, knowing my head gets stuck on songs. She started singing "She put the lime in the coconut; she drank them both up..."
Arghhhhhhh............
Share your brain worms here :D

I watched Mame with Lucille Ball the other night. OMG, what a brain worm.
You charm the husk right off of the corn, MaaaAAAAaaame.
That MaaaAAAaaAAame keeps going through my head.

The aircon fixit guy came to my office yesterday. His cell-phone rang. It took eight hours to get those two bars of "music" out of my head!

The Lonely Island's "I'm on a Boat". For DAYS. To the point where I want to jump up from my desk and belt out "Poseidon! Look at meeee now!"
I'm sure my coworkers would be thrilled.

"Daydream Believer" because it's been played so many times in the last day or so due to Davy Jones' death.
Normally I get stuck with the disco versions of Abba that are played at Curves for exercising to.

I have some annoying measures from my choir music stuck in my head. The songs are actually quite pretty, but my part, on its own, over and over and over again...no thank you.
8OracleOfCrows
LMFAO's "I'm Sexy and I Know It." It's been stuck in my head off and on for the last month.

I keep hearing "I Don't Want This Night to End" by Luke Bryant. Sorry if I offend the country-music haters out there, but I love this song and I love the video.
I just wish I didn't hear it all day long. I haven't seen the video in three days, but the chorus keeps coming back...

"They tried to make me go to rehab, I said 'No, no no.'"
Three days. I'm glad I like the song.

I had "One Night in Bangkok" stuck in my head for a week...amazingly, I still like the song.

The chorus from "Get up" by Chinese man
"Get up, get out, you lazy lout
Get into your working clothes
Up to your knees in oil and grease
And a grindstone to your nose"
Sound like some sort of Irish folksong (I quite like it)

Woke up this morning to a mashup of Celine Dion's "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" and her cover of Eric Carmon's "All By Myself." Um. Ooookay....... ??
I can't even remember the last time I heard either of those songs for real, and I'm not even that much of a fan of hers, but there they were, right out of the gate when I woke up.
Found myself belting it out in the shower before I'd even gotten my eyes properly opened. I'm not even unhappy right now, and I associate both of those with superweepy self-indulgent crapitosis.
Further, neither of them had anything to do with what I was dreaming about before I dragged myself up - I was having a spy thriller and I was chasing some dudes around!
Sometimes I do wonder whether there is something disconnected up there in my attic. Celine Dion - sheesh.
Seriously, brain?

>7 justjukka:: That happens to me too, especially if I'm fretting about a solo. It's infuriating!

> None, right now . . . and if I'm lucky, I won't get any here that others have mentioned. Most of my brain worms are songs I truly dislike. The only exception is, like Rozax, when I get a piece of choral music stuck. Since I sing soprano, it is usually the melody.

"Talking to the Moon
Try to get to You"
by Bruno Mars
It plays at work at least twice during my shift and insinuates itself into my brain, but I kinda like it. Hmm, I have Mars as a name in my ancestors, wonder if we're related?
Another one of his that sticks has the line,
"'Cause this ain't Wonderland, it damn sure ain't Narnia"

All day Friday I kept replaying "I don't get it" over and over in my head.
No, wait, that was my math students.

I am blessed with no musicality, at all. I can not sing a song in my head because I don't remember how it goes... well, except maybe for Row, row, row your boat. In any case, no brain worms in my empty head. Lucky me!
26fuzzi
I've got the hymn "Amazing Love" (aka "And Can It Be?") running over and over.
That's one I don't mind repeating itself endlessly...much better than "Kokomo"!!!

Adele's "Someone like you" has been on replay in my head for three days straight ( i like the song..but for the love of Pete I need a break here!)
28LizzieD
qebo sent me over here, and with one exception, I'm way too old to fall victim to any of your brain worms. On the other hand, I'm here because my head is singing, "LBJ took the IRT down to 4th Street USA...When he got there, what did he see? The youth of America on LSD...LBJ IRT
USA LSD."

I knew better than to click this thread. Thanks so much morphy and fuzzi--now I've got alternating worms. Grr.

It could be worse, you could have "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" by Elton John going through your head...that was a couple days ago for me. I used to like his music, but not as a brain worm!! (love that term)

spunkypineapple, not a brain worm for me, but I did like the song; and, the dog and a gun, and living in Londontown, now, is a great line!

My previous brain worm has been replaced with Seals & Crofts' "Wayland the Rabbit". One of the few songs I don't mind getting stuck in my head.

Right at this moment, a choral piece for Sunday: There is a Green Hill Far Away. Earlier today it was a pop song, but I can't remember now that this one has replaced it.
46Spunkypineapple
#35 - I really like the song too, which is probably why it's now deeply stuck. I just hope it's replaced before I end up not liking the song. I keep trying to find a replacement ....

I've recently had the pleasure (?) of songs popping into my head as soon as I wake up. This morning was Kelly Clarkson (sp?) singing Whatever Makes You Stronger.

OK, this song started running thru my head last night on break, and it took about 15-20 minutes to get it to start going away. There are numerous variations on it, but the first lines are almost always the same...

I wake up with the chorus of a different song in my head almost every morning.
Some go away while I am in the shower; some, as today's stick around for hours...
Bob Seger's 'Feel like a Number' will just not go away. Argh.

Once again the Little River Band, this time heard in the radio on the way to lunch with colleagues (who are now late). Their hit song "Lady".
