An awful lot of the books in my collection have suddenly had their cover images replaced with those of other books. In the past, I have occasionally seen a cover spontaneously change to one from a different edition of the same work, but the current problem is so widespread, and the covers so wrong, that I can only imagine it's due to a bug (or deliberate vandalism?). I've started changing cover images back manually, but the incorrect images remain available. Here are some examples of affected works, along with the apparent title(s) on the incorrect covers:
1000 Extra/ordinary Objects => In die Welt hinaus
After Man: A Zoology of the Future => Levens Kunst (+ Harry Potter + Ruskin + Cervantes!)
The Art of the Surrealists => Ådalens poesi
Arthur C. Clarke's Mysterious World => O Amor nos Tempos de Cólera
Borderlands 4 => Analog 3 (+ Amori Crudeli + a Hungarian stamp catalogue!)
Fiend Folio => Practical Demonkeeping (+ Het Stond in de Koerier)
The Earth Will Shake => La Isla de las Mapas Perdidas
Nature's God => Listening is an Act of Love
The Illuminatus! Trilogy => Anchor To Windward
An Introduction to Old Norse => Image of Love (+ The Amazonian Chronicles)
Man After Man: An Anthropology of the Future => (a stack of binders?)
Murmurs of Earth => Det Egyptiska Mysteriet
The Silmarillion => The Hunt for Red October
You're My Hero, Charlie Brown => (a torn photo of an old man?)
The Zork Chronicles => Twixt (+ Promises Kept)
Can anyone tell what the heck is going on?!

LT is changing the way it handles covers. There are several temporary problems - read: http://www.librarything.com/topic/137354. Your problem has been mentioned on that thread. Tim is on the job.

That would explain it! Thank you for pointing this out to me; it's great to know the problem is being addressed!

Should have been fixed as part of the cover-changes issues. If you're still having troubles, let us know.

I realize this is an ancient thread, but I have been experiencing this issue the last couple of weeks. I have uploaded almost 1,500 books in the last few months, and now I find that randomly two or three will show up with a cover belonging to a different book altogether. The Change Cover function only offers different variations for that same wrong book. What the heck? It had the correct cover when I loaded it. It makes no sense for it to change to a completely different book. Either you have a Gremlin, or I'm doing something wrong. Can you help?

If you'll tell us what book, we can try to track it down. This sometimes happens when there is an incorrect work combination, but we can't figure it out without more information.

Oops! I apologize, I already fixed the covers but did not make note of which they were. I'm new to LT so my first assumption was that I did something wrong. It didn't occur to me that it might be a technical issue. If I roll across another one I'll come back here first with the info. Thanks for the reply!

>7 BecM1971: If you are using Amazon covers, these are picked up by ISBN/ASIN so it may be an Amazon issue. As a rule, using Amazon covers when you care about your covers is a bad idea - any time they change what they have for this ISBN/ASIN, your cover here WILL change. So you may want to always change to a member uploaded cover (your own or already existing) when you add books.
And it can be a combination issue (as >6 lilithcat: mentioned) - when your copy end up in the wrong place and the cover from that other place bleeds into your book (if you let LT decide the cover based on most popular for the work). In this case your copy just needs to be rescued and eventually reunited with the other copies of your book (which is what >5 BecM1971: sounds like).

I've gone through the first 200 books in your catalogue (by title) and found a number of obvious bad combinations. I fixed three, and asked for help on another in the combiners group. If your title and the work title don't agree, something at least needs to be checked.
