To be honest I was more amazed by this:

That is pretty funny. Do any of you guys want to see the "Lincoln the Vampire Slayer" movie?
7Mariah7
might get it at the $1 redbox thing but i wouldnt pay ten bucks to see it in theaters. ya know what i mean?
9ErisofDiscord
All hail magnificent Rifftrax! I wish I could get it. I wonder if they have one for New Moon so that I can finally stomach that movie. My brother and I have watched the first movie and we made it through (painfully and with numerous screaming fits at the television), but I gave up on New Moon.
10mrmcfluff2
I think Jacob is the funniest in the picture. Do you guys know the show that his swim trunks are??
11ErisofDiscord
I'm not sure - is it Family Guy or something?
13mrmcfluff2
That's right Rozax. Sort of a random question but it got me thinking about the movie "Ted" with Mark Wahlberg, because the producers of Family Guy produced the movie. Has anyone seen "Ted" yet?
15Mariah7
nope not yet. i spent my movie money on spiderman. which was soooo good by the way! anyone see it??
17ErisofDiscord
Brave was really good! My mom and I loved it. :)
18mrmcfluff
Brave was great! I was surprised I liked it but then again who can hate on a disney princess who turns out to really love her mom in the end?
And the new spiderman didn't disappoint. I know some people were hesitant to see it since the classic trilogy was so good, but i would definetly suggest going to see it ASAP.

I guess so.
Any way, to those who have watched the three big superhero movies of the summer (The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man, and The Dark Knight Rises), which is the best in your opinion, and why? I'm just curious to what other people think of them.

I just don't care for Maguire's take on Spiderman, their complete disregard of Gwen Stacy, and the way they handled the Venom story was painful.
I've yet to see any of this summer's superhero movies. Still on my list, but Brave is still at the top. That is to say, I still haven't seen that, either.

And to ArmyAngel's question I have seen all three of those movies, and Brave :), this is a tough choice. I absolutely loved Avengers because of all the action and the fact that it was a TEAM of awesome superheros. I loved the new spiderman because I thought they were more intense than the original trilogy. I also really liked the Dark Knight Rises because the whole cast was really great, except for the villain who was sub-par in my opinion. But then again who could exceed Heath Ledger's Joker, in Dark Knight? Over all I would give my best 2012 summer blockbuster super hero movie vote to... THE AVENGERS!
26AresofAmbition
I've only seen Avengers and Dark Knight Rises. I liked both very much, but I personally prefer Dark Knight Rises, probably because I'm a Batman fan, I loved Batman Begins and The Dark Knight (Dark Knight is my favorite movie), and while I found the Avengers to be fun, I also found it to be a little silly.
27ErisofDiscord
Which it was Avengers was meant to be - a fun flick for the whole family! DKR was a much darker and serious superhero movie, and that's the way I like them.
28mrmcfluff
#25, I heard they were making a Avengers 2 and I am so excited to go see it. Except I haven't read any of the comics so I don't really know what to expect.

I liked Batman Begins more than The Dark Knight, and I have no idea how much I'll like Dark Knight Rises.
31mrmcfluff
I liked Dark Knight better than Batman Begins because I liked how Dark Knight was more of a good vs. Evil with the Joker. It felt more super hero-ish to me.
32sarahy
I liked Batman Begins best, because I like the plot line with a story versus just a lot of action
33AresofAmbition
32. Funny, because I thought the story in Dark Knight was stronger than in Batman Begins, mainly because it explored the meaning of being a hero versus a vigilante, and showcased a villain who was the equivalent of a force of nature, unstoppable and incorruptable in his twisted view on society (I'm not saying Begins didn't have a good story though, it did as well).
35ErisofDiscord
#33 - Right on, Ares! Besides, what's wrong with action? Mindless action is just irritating (examples include the Transformers movies), but the action in The Dark Knight helped to drive the plot.
37justjukka
I like Batman Begins better because it has one of the strongest, most defined origins story you'll find in any movie. I'll admit, I got a bit tired of The Dark Knight because of the morons going around saying, "The Joker is my hero!" Yeah...go admit yourself.
38AresofAmbition
37. I agree with you 100%. I hate how people keep idolizing the Joker too. I always have hated how the earlier films from the 1990's idolized the villains and ignored Batman, who should always be the center of the movie. It was almost as if people wanted Batman to fail and the villain(s) to win.
On a side note, I feel that people also overestimate how much screentime Heath Ledger receives in the movie (he receives less than Harvey Dent). The Joker is not the main character in The Dark Knight, Batman is. I wouldn't blame the movie for making people think of the Joker as the main character, as much as those fans who think the movie is about the Joker.
If you want, we can settle this debate with a poll:

Yes, Heath Ledger's performance was phenomenal, but that's no reason to idolize The Joker. Consider the impact of the actor on the character; I don't remember anyone getting all hot and bothered over Jack Nicholson's Joker.
40AresofAmbition
Actually, I believe everybody did got hot and bothered over Jack Nicholson's Joker. I wasn't around when the film came out, but from what I've gathered from my parents, everybody was euphoric about Nicholson's performance, so much so that poor Michael Keaton, the true strength of the movie, was all but ignored.
And you also touched on an interesting point. It's possible that the role of the Joker cost Heath Ledger his life.
