It's mid-March, and I am at almost 30% of my 100 books for 2013 reading goal and at 39% of my 75 book goal!

My ROOT goal, 30 unread books off my shelves, is also at 30%.

I'm not doing as well with my Book On My Shelves challenge nor my losing weight while reading, but the year is still young...

I've been trying to read for weight loss, but I think I'm going to have to go out and walk or something.

Funny. the reading-for-weight-loss technique isn't working for me, either. You would think lifting all those heavy books would count for something...

My goodness, fuzzi, I give you an A+! for organization! Good luck, my friend! :)

I actually started charting the books I read in May of 2009, although I didn't join Librarything until January 31, 2012. This place is fun! :)

It is! I have so enjoyed cataloging my books, not just those on my shelves, but those I have read, even from back in my childhood.

Now I'm working on making sure I have the exact edition listed that sits on my shelves...

...as you can see, I'm not much into television... ;)

I believe most of us here at LT have not only an addiction to reading books, but an even greater addiction to acquiring them!!!

ROOT has been helping me get books off my shelves this year...why not try our 12 step/month program?

I'm doing better with the weight loss, having shed almost nine pounds since I started swimming twice a week, back in May. :)

I have read 19 of the 30 I set for my challenge, and am at 63% of my challenge goal! I am slightly behind the 20 I should be at on 8/31/13. I just need to read one more before that date in order to be on target to read 30 in 2013.

Since May I have been working steadily on weight loss, and have passed the halfway mark! If I can continue this way at least until the holidays, I should be able to meet my first goal of losing 22 pounds!

And I have lost 13.6 pounds since the end of May. I am hoping I can reach my 2013 goal by losing an additional 8.4 pounds by the end of the year...

I'm on the same trajectory, fuzzi--lost thirty pounds between last November and this November, and plan to lose thirty more between now and next year. Good luck to both of us!

Well, I'm not going to read all 16 of my challenge books this month: real life, time limitations plus a touch of malaise have plagued me so far.

I expect to finish my current impulse read The Case for the Real Jesus and another couple of books before the end of 2013. My numbers are lower than 2012, but still respectable, imo. :)

@fuzzi, as in your case, life has put itself in the way of my reading plans. Why can life not have the same priorities that we have?

Life does have its priorities, as you have pointed out.

We strive, we make plans, we have a goal, but it doesn't always happen like we want. And that's okay, too.
