Just finished The Only Way to Cross: The Golden Era of the Great Atlantic Express Liners---from the Mauretania to the France and the Queen Elizabeth 2 by John Maxtone-Graham. Excellent book, easy to read, entertaining yet a very good history of the Atlantic ocean liners in the Twentieth Century.

I finally started MaddAddam today which is Margaret Atwood's new novel. Too early to tell if it will be great like Oryx and Crake, or kind of lame like The Year of the Flood.

I can't decide whether to continue the dystopia theme after reading The Circle and read We or go for something equally cheerful, The Book Thief, or something Zen, like Saltwater Buddha. I could always go for light and endearing like the sequel to The Dalai Lama's Cat, which is The Art of Purring, but I don't own that yet and I am trying to reduce my owned but unread list (which is not all on LT).

I too am reading quite a downer for the holiday season, Life After Life by Kate Atkinson, not dystopian but with the WWII setting, it might as well be. I feel like I need to follow it up with something light and frothy. Sense and Sensibility, perhaps?
