This is on the work page, i.e., http://www.librarything.com/work/13265773

When I switch from covers view to list view for LibraryThing recommendations, the gray check marks do not show up. Green and blue checkmarks display as normal.

It's very annoying because I often use the list view to see at a glance which of the recommended books I already have read.

Thank you.

Bump? Would love to know if anybody is even working on this. Thanks.

Bump again.

Hi @sturlington. Acknowledging your post, but want to mention our small staff is pretty loaded with some developments right now. Would love to get this moving though!

For my books, I see:
- purple checkmarks on books in my "Wishlist"
- blue checkmarks for books "Read but unowned"
- green checkmarks for books in "My Library"
- gray checkmarks for books that are in any other Collection.

Just want to confirm that you're seeing the same behavior? I also see all checkmarks in List View except the gray checkmarks...

Is there any reason you don't want to add books in other Collections to any of the others above (Read but unowned or My Library)? Just curious.

I will check with the developers to see if this was an expected change with the Recommendations updates, or a true bug. Thanks for your patience.

It would be great if we could choose for ourselves which colour checkmarks to use for which collections.

Just saying ;)

>4 kristilabrie: Thanks for the acknowledgment. Yes, I am seeing the same behavior. "To Read" books have gray checkmarks--they are not Read but unowned or yet in My Library. But I like to see them in List view because it means I already own them and don't need to get them again. I also use the gray checkmarks to distinguish books I started but didn't finish and otherwise undesirable books.

I also have to add that this does seem to me like a true bug, since the behavior is not the same in the two views, i.e., the gray checkmarks appear as expected in cover view but not in list view. Also, before the upgrade in recommendations, the gray checkmarks did appear as expected.

>5 _Zoe_: of course! I didn't mean to imply that, sorry if it came across that way. :)

>6 sturlington: I'll note this to our developers, hopefully a quick fix! Thanks for your help.

>7 kristilabrie:

I interpreted _Zoe_s' request in 5 to not be about collection-ordering or adding books to collections, but about customizing the "green is Your Library, blue is RNO, pink is Wishlist" mapping so that someone could, if they chose, have pink for Read in 2015 and blue for Read in 2014, etc.

>8 lorax: Ah, gotcha! so a RSI, perhaps? Yes, more customization is always good if it can be done!

Feel free to add it to the extensive RSI list: https://www.librarything.com/groups/recommendsiteimprov. I'm actually going to be running through RSIs soon to start seeing what can't be improved for members, functionality, etc. If your heart is set on any particular RSIs you'll want to start chiming in there. :)

Zoe's just plugging what has been a long-standing RSI.

Watch out, you're going to see a lot of bumps in RSI!

>11 lorax: duly noted. squeaky wheels, people, squeaky wheels! and big wheels, and useful wheels...I have a feeling I'm going to be seeing wheels in my sleep soon.

Okay, I'll go through and bump lots of RSI threads, but in the meantime, here's a prioritized list of my favourite RSIs: http://www.librarything.com/wiki/index.php/User:Zoe/feature_requests

I'm glad to hear that you'll actually be looking at RSI; it can often feel like a waste to post there because there's no tracking and often no acknowledgement.

Here's an old RSI thread asking for personalized checkmarks.

awesome, thanks @_Zoe_! Happy to be helping to improve the site for members (new and longstanding). I've bookmarked your threads and will keep them in my research.
