I think it's pretty clear that Bernie is not going to win the democratic nomination. I know--boo hoo. So for those like me who can't stomach voting for Hillary I think there are three good/okay choices to make and one bad choice.
I'll start with the bad choice. The bad choice would be to vote for Donald Trump. Of all the candidates in this election cycle he is the greatest evil. He's not fit or qualified---even more than that he doesn't IMO even understand the process or governing. He'll be a disaster--though depending on congress and the courts the parameters of the disaster he'll be I suspect will be at least contained to some degree and I also suspect he'll be done in four years. So if he manages to get elected it's like a really really bad storm--but rays of sunshine 4 years from now. I try to stay optimistic.
So the good/okay choices:
1. vote Jill Stein--Green Party. The Green party is a progressive party--more progressive in language and even policy than Bernie Sanders. The main difference in my eyes is that Bernie if he'd been nominated would have had a very good chance of winning. Jill Stein will not win. OTOH if her campaign manages to break the 5% threshold in popular vote they will be eligible for federal matching funds in the next election. A very good showing has a chance of catapulting the Green Party into future viability. More choices in the future--not a bad thing.
2. write in Bernie Sanders in November--you wanted him--believed in his candidacy then vote for him.
3. save your gasoline or shoe leather---don't stand in a long line to vote for someone you don't like. Stay home. Sip on your favorite beverage. Rake the leaves. Keep the television turned off---you'll at least then give yourself one more good day.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So anyway throughout the campaign season the Donald has been entertaining us with all the nicknames for his opponents. I'll pause here to say a lot of them are hilarious and hit home because people actually see some truths in them.
Anyway if the above hasn't made it clear I think Donald as POTUS is a downright awful idea--a disaster with potential old testament or apocalyptic overtones. So unless advised by Tim himself or someone in LT management to desist because they think I'm going too far---from now until November and potentially even past that date depending on the results of the election I'm simply going start referencing Mr. Trump---not by his birth or surname any more but simply as the Antichrist.

EVen if you can't bring yourself to vote for anyone for president, still get your tail to the poll. That's not going to be the ONLY thing on the ballet. There will be down ticket offices being voted on, and quite possibly state/local stuff that will definitely effect you.

Well FWIW it is my third option. But there's also something to be said for voting for democrats down ticket if you like them.

Then tell me that Bernie's done.
I happen to think the presenter has got it right, but even if not, keep in mind: there are a lot of other people who think so, too. The convention is bound to be interesting.

>4 davidgn: Now that Ms Warren, the real star of the progressive wing of the Democratic Party, has endorsed Ms Clinton and is campaigning with her, Mr Sanders has lost most of his leverage. The best he can hope for now is a speech in primetime on the Tuesday of the convention.

>5 theoria: It was very funny watching her say things that weren't quite true about 'progressive' Clinton during their appearance in Ohio. She virtually managed to make Clinton promise low cost education and help with student loans. She's one savvy politician. And as she and Sanders are about the same on policy, Sanders folk and Sanders himself ought to support her support. Starting out his campaign, a sober Sanders could at best have hoped to pull the party a little left--actually win? though it looked good at times, it was not going to happen--and that he has done. He's slowly pulling out, apparently, but I hope he manages a classy final exit.

not that this pertains too much to the above but I found this article interesting:

#6---if anyone is capable of closing the divide between Sanders supporters and Clinton--it's Warren. As I see it it's going to be her job now to move the Clinton camp to the left and to try to broker some kind of peace between the two sides. If Warren can manage to do that short of a major major scandal or global catastrophe I don't think Trump will have any chance at all in November and that the election might even turn into a Clinton landslide. It's not a given that's going to happen though.

True, but I wouldn't put money on the swan.
