This is a young adult book and I have forgotten the title. It's set in England farm country. The cat character is a black cat named Trouble. There is a bull named Sultan, another cat named Silver Cat and a number of human characters whose names I cannot remember. The human characters include a farmer and his wife who I seem to remember are named Liz and Joe. Their neighbors from America who are Jill and Paul - they have two children a boy and a girl whose names I cannot remember. I have a niece who adores cats and is just the right age to be reading this so I wanted to get it for her for her birthday, if I could only remember the title. I read it as a mid teen back in the early 70's so I am assuming it was written between the mid 60's to early 70's
