It would be nice if the automatic recommendations could consider work-to-work relationships. As it stands, owning collections or complete works can result in the individual works in those collections being suggested, even if the individual work is clearly listed as being contained in the collection. Thus, owning a complete Shakespeare can result in single plays being suggested or owning a single volume edition of The Lord of the Rings can lead to The Fellowship of the Ring or The Return of the King as suggestions. I've noticed this before, but it just came up again when The Heroes was recommended to me, because among other things, I own a couple of Joe Abercrombie novels. But I also own The Collected Joe Abercrombie which includes his first six books, including The Heroes.

I'm reluctant to just click "No thanks" because I assume that affects the recommendation algorithm to some extent.

Yes, it would be a good change, I agree.

So is it coming? Or will it be on the "radar" sometime in the next "two weeks"? (Yeah, yeah. I can wish for a pony even without expecting to be given one.)

I keep searching, because I SWEAR this has been brought up before, but I can't find the previous threads.

Ditto. It seems like a very helpful application of work-to-work data.

By now there should be enough data there to be really helpful.
