We're contemplating a second LT picnic/BBQ in Cambridge, later in the summer - would anyone come?

Depending on dates, I will be available in Cambridge. I also invite anyone interested to check out my Boston history blog, http://bostonhistory.typepad.com

Bostonhistory, neat blog! I'm afraid with vacation and chasing kids, just about every remaining summer weekend is "booked", so we're unlikely to make it.

I'd be interested. :) (Thanks for the invite to this group! I hadn't even known about it.) Hope everyone's having a great one! It's been beautiful the past few days.

If anyone's into children's literature, they have some gorgeous illustration books at the Harvard Book Store in Harvard Square (go down into the basement where the used books are... under the "remainders").

Hartford Courant reporter Kim Martineau will speak at Simmons College (300 The Fenway, Boston) on Monday, 26 February at 6 p.m. She will discuss her coverage of the E. Forbes Smiley map theft case and its implications for libraries. The event will take place in the Faculty/Staff dining room, and is free and open to the public. The GIANT Chelmsford Library Sale is coming up next weekend (starts the 14th, I believe). For those not aquainted with it, it is in an old gymnasium behind the town hall and full -FULL - of books. It is worth it just to see a gymnasium full of books. The dealers start lining up at 6 am on Friday (an extreme sport for most of them). Nicely priced and a giant room full of books (and they have lots of boxes on hand), what else could you want??? More info can be obtained on BookSaleFinder.com or the Chelmsford Library site.
