Alan Gratz
Fiction
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
Suggested Grades: 9-12

Live by the code or die by the code? Everything is going for perfectly for the high school senior, Kamran Smith. He is the star of the football team, homecoming king, is dating the most popular girl in school, and has just been accepted into West Point Army College. Even though Kamran’s mother is from Iran, he has always been 100% accepted. And then out of nowhere, his life just flips upside down.

Darius Smith, Kamran’s older brother has been accused from the US government of being a terrorist. Darius had been filmed leading the Al Qaeda's on a deadly attack on a US Embassy in the Middle East. The Smith family is taken from their home, split up, and put into a maximum-security FBI prison where they didn’t see each other for months. Even after being questioned and interrogated, Kamran does not believe his brother is a terrorist. He believes in the code, and so does his brother. He has seen signs and messages hidden in his brothers’ videos, only that he would know. Kamran realizes that Darius is hinting at their next deadly attack and proving his innocence. Kamran knows it is up to him to clear his brother's’ name and save the lives of thousands.

But how can Kamran do this while being in prison? He can’t. Kamran must to escape.

Once outside, Kamran must race against time and must piece together the clues that will lead him to Darius, and the truth. Will Kamran find Darius before it’s too late? Is Kamran ready to face the truth? Is Darius really a terrorist? Read Code of Honor to find out!

In this novel, acclaimed author Alan Gratz (Prisoner B-3087) takes readers on a heart-pounding, nonstop adventure through underground intelligence bunkers and dangerous terrorist cells, weaving a gripping tale about the War on Terror—and the bond between brothers.
