For the 11th year in a row, here's the place to post your "clunkers" of the year: the books you just couldn't get through, the ones you threw across the room, or the books you finished but really disliked. Go ahead, tell us how you really feel! :-)

Post one or several and tell us why it gets your vote as a clunker.

The Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling. Most boring read...Harry Potter was great ..this was not.

I noticed that I had The Manchurian Candidate in my "on hiatus" collection. Usually that means I like the book but something better came along, a library book came up, or it was taking too long and I needed a break. However I also notice that I gave it 2 stars. I generally don't give stars until I finish. I obviously didn't like it at all but unfortunately don't remember why. I don't think I got very far. I definitely didn't get to the point where he was brought back to the US. I have now moved it to my "officially unfinished" collection.

All the birds in the sky. Did not like that book. Someone who wanted to be Gaiman.

I found The Passage by Justin Cronin to be unreadable.

I know that Mothering Sunday by Graham Swift is widely praised, but I could summon up no interest in it.

I guess I picked my books well this year. I can't say I had any clunkers.

About to quit Today Will be Different by Maria Semple. Too bad as I've already read half. Can't think of any others I've quit, so I must've chosen well this year!

My biggest disappointment was an Early Review title, Clownfish Blues. I got all the way through, since I had said I would, it but found it quite lacking.

My clunker of the year was Running with Rhinos: Stories from a Radical Conservationist by Ed Warner. Although it wasn't the worst book I've ever read, the cover and title are very misleading, as the book is very light on stories about rhinos, or radically conserving them!

I've had others in 2016 but the most recent one was
WOMAN IN CABIN 10 by Ruth Ware.
