If this was your first Val McDermid book what did you think of it? If you had read others, how did it compare?

I've read all the Tony Hill/Carol Jordan books and the lowest rating I gave any of them was Splinter the Silence with a 4. Love that series. I've also read two of her standalones... A Place of Execution which got a 4.5 and Trick of the Dark which got a 5.

Read and loved all the Tony Hill / Carol Jordan Series : majority 5 stars, The Last Temptation was my lowest with 4 stars. 7 books, with the eighth due to be published at the end of this year.
Also read Killing the Shadows standalone : 4 Stars
Report for Murder : 3.5 Stars, The Skeleton Road : 3.5 Stars.
Everybody should read Wire in the Blood!

>5 Andrew-theQM: I agree with you on that.

>6 Carol420: I also enjoyed it when she brought the central character from Wire in the Blood back in a later book, which certainly threw the proverbial cat among the pigeons.
