I would very much like the option to restrict certain parts of my profile (location, groups, etc.) such that only my friends, and not the general public, can view them. Has this been suggested before?

I have the opposite problem, being disappointed with the apparently new logon requirement. Previously, if I am not confused, I could send people a link to my profile, and it would pop right up when they clicked the link. Now I would have to shepherd them into LT membership, and explain how to get to my profile, for which most of the people I deal with don't have time. Sorry for the loss of PR pizzazz.

#3, I'm not quite sure what you're referring to...? I just checked your profile (and mine, and number of others) in a browser that's not logged in to the site, and I can see all of them just fine.

During very high traffic times, LT has restricted access for those people who are not logged in. Perhaps that was what you encountered.

Or you may be sending them to profile.php, instead of /profile/rogerbelling .
Also, as far as the first feature, yes it has been requested before.
