Beta release: v1.0.1
If you are a beta tester1 for the Android app then you should have a new version available to you with the following fixes/improvements:

• Performance enhancements
Much faster loading of images and data requests.
• Camera fixes
Specifically for the Nexus 5 upside down cover capture)
• Minor UI updates and fixes
HTML within comments, private comments, and reviews is now displayed correctly.
• Enabled saving app to external SD storage

1. You can view the app on the Play Store and if it has (Beta) next to the app name then you're in the beta program.
If you want to become a beta tester and get early access to new features and fixes (and newly created bugs that could crash your device!) then scroll to the bottom of the Play Store page and you should see that option.

LT app version: 1.0.1 build 21 (beta)
Device: Samsung Galaxy SII (I9100)
OS: Android 6.0.1

I can't scan barcodes because the camera doesn't focus. I've tried taking an in-focus photograph before going into the LT app, but it has no effect. The app LibraryThing Scanner had the same problem until I unchecked the setting "Use autofocus".

I know my phone is ancient (definitely time for an upgrade, though it's still going strong!), but I don't think this is a device problem.

The 1.0.1 beta release has been promoted to a general release, so everybody should be able to install it now.

We are hard at work fixing a few other things (scanner focus among them).

Gilroy: I came here from that thread. I misunderstood the intention of this one though: I thought the devs wanted beta bugs mentioned here. Clearly wasn't thinking. Sorry!

I like the app for cataloguing by scanning: great idea.

Is there a plan to offer a 'Talk' facility on the app for easier browsing the threads?

>7 LesMiserables: There is talk of that, but it's not 100% for sure yet. I'm pushing for it.
