We had so much fun with the Valentine's Day Hunt that we can't wait to do it again! We're planning on hiding some eggs for clever LT members to find, around Easter weekend, starting Friday, March 30th and continuing for a week.

In addition to wanting to give folks more notice for this hunt, we'd also like to solicit your help in devising our clues! We did this a couple years ago for the Talk Like a Pirate Day treasure hunt, which was a huge success. Writing clues is by no means required to participate in the hunt, and yes—you'll still get credit for visiting the page of your own clue!

Help us out!

If you'd like to submit a clue, here's how:

- Write a clue or two in verse that would direct folks to a page somewhere here on LibraryThing. It can be any page on LT—a specific work, author, venue, tag, anything!
- So as not to spoil any surprises, please don't post your clues here.
- Email them directly to me (loranne@librarything.com).
- Clues that are on-theme (i.e. involve works, authors, venues, tags, and so on of a spring/Easter/etc. nature) are preferred, but not required.
- Please include a link to the page on LibraryThing to which your clue should direct egg hunters.
- Adding something egg-related in the subject line of your email wouldn't hurt.
- Please submit your clues no later than 12pm Eastern on Thurs, March 29th.

ETA: If you're looking for inspiration/examples, you can see the clues staff devised for the Valentine's Day Hunt here.

Would be nice if there were a hunt/game/riddle archive on LT. These events always seem to occur when I'm slammed and just can't get to them by the deadline.

>3 stringcat3: I'm sorry to hear that! I do think you're right, that we should have an archive of them. I'll work on putting one together on the Wiki. Will probably take some time for me to get them all, though.

>1 lorannen: For all of us creative souls (read: procrastinators) when should we have our clue suggestions in by?

>6 pbirch01: Good question! I'll update this in my original post, as well, but let's aim for 12pm Eastern on March 29th. After that point, I can't guarantee I'll have time to review and add more clues to the hunt.

I've already received a solid group of clues you clever folks have written, but feel free to keep 'em coming! I'll certainly have to pare down the list in the end, I think, but I'm envisioning this being a bit of a longer hunt, in terms of number of clues, as well, since there will be a whole week to find them.

If/when you do archive the past hunts -- if possible, please include the answers for those of us who have no clue how to understand the clues. I don't get "subtle" hints.
