The next person perfers self-sealing envelopes to the kind you have to moisten or (yuck!) lick.

8kgriffith
Edited: Jan 29, 2008, 12:53 pm

yes, self-sealing rocks, but if you're going for cost-effective and quick, a moist sponge system works wonders :)

the next person wishes there were secret added hours in his/her day for super secret things like napping, reading, writing, and kitten-playing!

17elbakerone
Jan 29, 2008, 3:16 pm

I can't pinpoint why but I actually really liked the book The Alchemist. I think it was just one of those books that I was reading at a time where I really needed some soul-searching and path finding. I haven't read anything else by him though.

Four cats here. But they aren't pets. They own me.

The next person likes rhyming.

39Kerian
Edited: Jan 29, 2008, 11:55 pm

The next person has heard of the chip you can have put in your pet to better track it if it goes missing, but hasn't had that done to their pet.

48megkrahl

The next person has named their computer.

52foggidawn

the next person can recommend a book that they found to be life-altering on some level.

59Kerian

The next person is thinking about fajitas for dinner.

66elbakerone
Edited: Jan 31, 2008, 4:57 pm

Well, one of my favorite places to hang out is the arboretum near where I live and on a windy day in the fall you really can pretend to hear voices among the blowing leaves....that doesn't mean I'm crazy does it?

*doh! too slow*

I had enchilads last night so Mexican twice in a row would be a bit much.

95QueenOfDenmark
Edited: Feb 3, 2008, 4:48 pm

I have just started my book so I haven't got much to tell yet. It is called The State of the Union by Douglas Kennedy and so far all I have read is the first couple of pages and it seems to be about a young woman called Hannah, who has radical parents but wants a normal life herself.

I've just got to a bit where her father seems to be having an affair and her mother has lost her contract for an art exhibition. From the back of the book I am expecting Hannah to break the law somehow but hide the secret for years (it's the sixties at the moment) until the events of 9/11 force the truth to come out.

The next person has also read a book by Douglas Kennedy.

96cheri0627
Feb 3, 2008, 5:22 pm

I've never read anything by Douglas Kennedy. It does sound like it could be an interesting book that you're reading, though, Jody. Maybe I'll have to try it.

The next person is excited that the Puppy Bowl is in High Definition...

97Kerian
Feb 3, 2008, 10:15 pm

What is a puppy bowl, because I'm assuming you don't mean a dog dish. Kidding - I'm sure you mean the super bowl - um, high definition doesn't matter to me, I hate sports.

The next person either watched the 'puppy bowl' or knows someone who did.

98rissa
Edited: Feb 3, 2008, 10:21 pm

I didn't and I'm not sure if anyone I know did (though I suspect at least one of my sisters did).

99foggidawn
Feb 3, 2008, 10:25 pm

I normally give Valentine gifts to my immediate family but as my sisters never eat the candy I look so hard to find for them I'm feeling discouaged. (On year I even did this for them when I was so sick I could hardly stand without falling, and a year later I found one of my sister's candy untouched - that really hurt.) They all need work done on their teeth anyways, as does my mom.

The next person has read Inkheart.

258kgriffith

if by "prepares lunch" you mean, "scouts out leftovers in the fridge or ensures enough space on the debit card for takeout", then yes, i do :-D

the next person is about fed up with work/school and is grateful for the upcoming mini-break from said torturous requirement!

259QueenOfDenmark
Edited: Feb 19, 2008, 8:21 am

I've been off work for a few weeks now due to ill health and am starting to feel a bit stir crazy. Too sick to work, too healthy to stay in bed. Thank heaven (and Tim) for Library Thing and everyone on it.

The next person is having a well deserved mini break though and is doing something special for it.

260Kerian
Feb 19, 2008, 1:48 pm

Not really. I work later today.

The next person also has work today.

261cheri0627

262Kerian

If I request the time off, it's a vacation, I guess, but I won't get paid for it. No PTO for me.

The next person read our new thread about the Twilight movie.

263foggidawn
Feb 19, 2008, 5:57 pm

Yup! Yay, Twilight!

The next person is more excited about the new Narnia movie that's coming out than the Twilight movie.

the next person cant wait or the Twilight movie!

265QueenOfDenmark

The next person is familiar with works by either Frances Hodgson Burnett or Dave Duncan.

269Marensr
Feb 20, 2008, 12:00 pm

Oh yes. Frances Hodgson Burnett but not Duncan I am afraid.

The next person has gone to a book store with books in mind only to find the store does not carry any of the books you wanted.

270Kerian
Feb 20, 2008, 12:02 pm

Definitely. That's not fun! :(

The next person can usually think of some other titles they'd like to look for if a bookstore is out of what you originally came for.

271Marensr
Feb 20, 2008, 12:07 pm

Oh yes three or four- they are like potato chips.

The next person is avoiding something that should be done.

272QueenOfDenmark
Feb 20, 2008, 12:18 pm

I need to tidy my house and do some laundry and cut the grass and...well too much to list but today I'm avoiding it all.

The next person, in contrast, is doing something they shouldn't today.

273foggidawn
Edited: Feb 20, 2008, 12:21 pm

I've certainly eaten things I shouldn't today -- I'm having a terrible time sticking to my diet.

The next person exercises regularly.

274Kerian
Feb 20, 2008, 12:52 pm

I don't exercise at all. I suppose the walking I do during the day just around the house or at work may count for something, though. After all, just about anything can burn calories. :)

The next person has had a snickerdoodle.

275usafspaz
Feb 20, 2008, 3:48 pm

Alas i have not!! Yall need to send me one :)

The next person (besides K who should not post!!) knows who Dave Duncan is.

276QueenOfDenmark
Feb 20, 2008, 3:51 pm

I do not know who Dave Duncan is but I am very bad at remembering names.

The next person will know who Dave Duncan is.

277foggidawn
Feb 20, 2008, 3:58 pm

I must admit that I didn't know who Dave Duncan was until I looked him up. However, his books look interesting -- spaz, which one should be read first?

The next person will either be spaz, answering that question, or someone else with a book recommendation.

278Kerian
Feb 20, 2008, 4:07 pm

Have you not read Lost in Austen? Did you get get through all of Jasper Fforde's books?

The next person has a rough idea of how many words they type per minute.

279usafspaz
Feb 20, 2008, 5:23 pm

Depends on the quiz! one quiz i can hit like 72 another i get about 45. And the ones a like are the semi-series called The kings blade series. They are about the same era but don't not go like one after the other like harry potter. It is really hard to explain. But they are a little explicit but not too bad but i would really recommend them.

The next person is going somewhere special tomarow

286Kerian
Feb 21, 2008, 12:35 am

The library is special - it's full of books! I might be going on a walk, though, but still special, because I don't get to spend much time with the person I'll be walking with.

The next person isn't sleeping.

287foggidawn

Nope! *bounce bounce bounce* Too hyper!

The next person is mildly annoyed at my buoyant good mood tonight. ;-)

288Kerian
Feb 21, 2008, 12:42 am

Never. I've been just as hyper. Me thinks I should have gone outside for a walk to use up some energy today. ;)

The next person is lively and owns a dog.

289foggidawn
Feb 21, 2008, 12:45 am

The next person's username begins with an 'f'.

291foggidawn

Okay, for real this time. . . .

The next person is afraid of snakes.

The next person woke up late today.

294foggidawn
Feb 21, 2008, 9:49 am

No, I woke up early to have breakfast with a friend, and to get ready (mentally, I guess, since I can't see any other way of preparing for it) for a phone interview.

The next person has interviewed for a job over the phone before.

295Kerian
Edited: Feb 21, 2008, 10:51 am

I am hungry and too lazy to cook anything. I'd prefer chinese to pizza right now though.

The next person would just order take out rather than starve through laziness.

307Kerian
Feb 22, 2008, 4:42 pm

If I had the money to order for delivery, I would. Grocery stores are cheaper.

The next person has plans this weekend.

309Marensr
Feb 22, 2008, 5:22 pm

The next person really loves LT.

315QueenOfDenmark

Yes, I am a blog addict, and I do like to add my two cents!

The next person prefers to send e-cards rather than send greeting cards.

319QueenOfDenmark
Feb 23, 2008, 3:59 pm

If I send an e-card it's usually because I have forgotton the occasion that requires the card. I then have to use my usual lie to cover up the fact that I've forgotten. "I hope you like this e-card, so much better for the environment than all those paper cards that just get thrown away."

The next person disapproves of making a bad habit look like a virtue.

320oh2read
Feb 23, 2008, 5:57 pm

The next person loves basketball.

321cheri0627
Feb 23, 2008, 8:41 pm

I really enjoy sports (gasp!) but basketball is one that I can't say I love. I can say I love hockey and baseball and football (American - but I do really like soccer a lot).

The next person would rather go to the dentist than to a live sporting event.

322foggidawn
Edited: Feb 23, 2008, 8:52 pm

Ooh, toughie! Depends on what the dental procedure is . . . and what the sporting event is. For example, I'd much rather have my teeth cleaned than go to, say, an American football game, or a hockey game. On the other hand, I'd rather go to a soccer game, or even baseball, than have root canal work.

How's that for a long, over-thought answer?

The next person has a favorite baseball team that they root for every year.

I do watch TV, mostly over the top of the laptop while I'm also on LT. And when it's my turn on Guess the Book I can read and type while I'm doing it. I think it's known as multi-tasking.

340QueenOfDenmark

I wasn't but now I am.

This reminded me, we have a game called articulate where you have to describe something to your team without saying the name of it and they have to guess what you are describing. My husband had to describe an animal and used the clues "You get red ones and grey ones and they climb trees and have long tails." "Squirrels!" "Yes! Now what would one do if you threw it?" Total silence followed that, then someone said "Bite you and die?" Nobody got Flying Squirrel and everybody wondered why his clue wasn't "what would they do if they had wings?"

The next person is now thinking of flying foxes.
