Now that Fictfact has closed, would it be possible to auto-generate a list of next books in series? That you could edit. It would also be useful to flag series you have books in for intention to read more in that series. Some of the cookery books or short story collections I have no interest in the other in the series so if I could flag them as skip or suppress it would be useful.

That would be nice

FictFact used to, the series function in your stats/memes already almost does this - it doesn't distinguish between read/wishlist/whatever stuff in your collections but it does flag them with the checkmarks and you can show or hide the other books not in your library.
I don't know if it's possible I'm just putting it out there and hoping.

They also had reminders of new books that came out in series which was a blessing and so useful, while also being very expensive.

LT only has new books if someone enters them, and they are only in the series if someone enters that in CK. If you have suppressed books not in your library you will not see these new books in your series page.

Yeah, it's not perfect but I was just putting this up here to suggest maybe using some of the things that made fictfact useful for a lot of people, if possible.
I know it's not all possible but you don't get anything if you don't at least ask.

For others, like me, who had never heard of "FictFact" and could use a bit of background, here's the message about closing from the website:
FictFact is closed.
We recently lost our primary source of income, Amazon Associate sales. Due to a minor error on our part, we unknowingly had in infraction of their terms. We tried to appeal after we corrected the issue, but was not successful and they terminated our account. Over the years, we have had donations from our wonderful supporters, but it is not enough to cover our operating costs. We are extremely sad to have to close down the site after almost 10 years. Thank you for all your support over the years!!
Please login to download your book data as a CSV file before July 1, 2019.

The "auto-generate list of next books in a series" could be pretty easy. On the stats/series page, https://www.librarything.com/profile/USERNAME/stats/series, they could add a third option that shows only the book immediately following the last one you have. It wouldn't be perfect, of course, it would probably show lots of omnibuses, but it would be something.
I noticed that Tim reached out to FictFact on Twitter so maybe he already has some ideas.

> 9 Don't tell me we're getting another new member of the family. We're already missing being only children... :-p

I liked FictFact.com but found two things annoying:
(1) I had to manually select series and mark which volumes I have/read.
(2) I would prefer to have multiple kinds of flags:
—— (a) "own"
—— (b) "read"
—— (c) "like"
The last one is optional.

>12 Keeline: I also would have liked to be able to sort series into "actively reading" and "interested in" or similar terminology. Right now I have a ton of series listed there because I might want to read them someday, but right now they are just making my list unmanageably long.

At the moment I am in the process of manually listing my Series reads from the printout I downloaded from FictFact, this doesn't overly bother me as I have a number of manual lists and this enables me to makes use of my fountain pen collection and the varied coloured inks I have. Along with a couple of other items I have some writing to do and will probably start this in September/October, something to do as the evenings draw in.

I also relied on FictFact to keep track of my series reading. I think this could very easily be added to LT by just adding another checkmark and a "Read" collection. When one finishes a book, it can be added to the Read collection. The Read checkmark would have to take precedence over the other colors of checkmarks. Then one could simply look at the series page for the particular series and would be able to quickly see what the next book in the series that is unread would be, as it would not have the yellow Read checkmark. One would also be able to see if the book was owned if it had a green checkmark for the My Library collection.

+1 for me, too. This is the one thing from FictFact that I miss in LT -- the ability to import a whole series and mark the books To Be Read, Reading, Read. As I get new books for a series, so far I've always been able to search for them and add them to the proper collection, but it doesn't give me a view of where I am with reading the whole series.
