The unabridged text from Washington Irving's timeless tale of the man who slept for 20 years.
Easton Press publishes several deluxe limited editions a year, some of which are remarkably good and far better than their standard editions. I purchased (with great difficulty) this book direct from Easton Press, but they no longer sell outside North America and those in the rest of the world have to wait for books to appear on the secondary market, usually at an inflated price.

In 2026 Conversation Tree Press published a superb limited edition of Rip van Winkle which is reviewed HERE.

I really love this edition and hope I can score one on the secondary market for a decent price at some point. Thanks for sharing, Warwick!

I am surprised and impressed that an EP book was printed on Crane's Lettra 100% cotton fiber paper. Quite nice.

The white slipcase and white leather binding was also used for the Tempest DLE which I picked up recently.

The Easton Press DLEs are really wonderful, especially if you get them for retail which can be somewhat pricey, but far less than on the second-hand market. I think their facsimiles are in particular very good for the money.

For this DLE, it appears that EP produced high-fidelity reproductions of the original illustrations, unlike so many of their standard editions, where the reproductions are fuzzy, muddy, and dull.

The illustrations are very good, but not as crisp and sharp as when printed directly from the engraved block. You can see that in the three close up pictures.
