Today I suddenly find that I am unable to edit the book details for newly added books. I am able to edit details for books already in my collection.
When I open one of the newly added books, it simply displays the Main Page. Clicking on any other links, such as Book Details, simply reloads the Main Page. The edit button on the Main Page is greyed out.
Here is a link to one of the entries showing the problem. This is for “On a Pale Horse” by Piers Anthony:
https://www.librarything.com/work/6889
It seems like there is a problem with creating a personal page for that work, since the link looks like the generic page for the work rather than my personal catalog. For comparison, here is a link to one of my book entries that does work:
https://www.librarything.com/work/2492277/book/227452179
I have added four books today. The first briefly showed the problem, then corrected itself. The other three are solidly un-editable.
Is there an issue with the site today or is the problem on my end?

I get the error
There is no work with that reference number.
when I try to edit a newly entered book

>5 setnahkt: Yep, this sounds like a cache issue - the server does not know yet that the book exists. Give it a few minutes and try again (or wait for LT to get the caches under control).

I thought I was the only one this was happening to, but I just got here to find out I'm not.
Thank you for opening a thread on this topic. Hopefully it will be resolved soon.
Greetings to all, and many thanks to the troubleshooter, what could we do without him/her?

>5 setnahkt: Same. Can't edit. Can't add a cover. Can't add tags. The system simply claims the entire work doesn't exist. Ugh!
If it helps: I added it manually, because it's an electronic early review copy. (Not through the LT early review system - just to make sure I don't cause extra confusion - I just get lots of things early).

Everything is v......e..............r.....................................................y slow at the moment. Splitting, adding common knowledge, re-assigning. Probably someone spilt some treacle in the gears.

Okay, try it now, people.
We think we found it. The problem was that one of our secondary servers was behind. Normally that wouldn't be a problem but something also went wrong in sending signed-in users to the secondary server.
We fixed the immediate problem--it's forcing you all onto the good servers. Tomorrow the coders will attempt to figure out where the errant logic is.

You can (look above the message when you are typing one. Change the dropdown from "no change" to "Closed by Member". Post a message ("Closing as resolved" for example) and it will update the status.
Or someone else can do it for you. Would like to try to close it?
