Enabled. Excellent post, per usual with wcarter.
The Angel Bomb Press was unknown to me but the proprietor Todd Thyberg seems to be on the mark. This is a classic sci-fi novella and the Angel Bomb Press treatment is impressive. Both the deluxe edition (with separate portfolio of prints and ephemera)at $735 and the standard edition at $165 are available directly on Todd's website and both are printed letterpress although the deluxe edition is printed with a Vandercook 219 on 100% cotton acid-free paper and the standard edition printed from polymer plates on Classic Crest Bare White eggshell paper. Thyberg created nineteen imaginative multi-color illustrations for these editions.
I thought the standard edition of 200 copies was an excellent value and bought a copy. 13 of the 50 deluxe edition copies remain available for purchase. Link below.

I have the standard edition and it's great. It made the perfect reading material during the winter storm last weekend.

Beautiful pictures! The text is not my bag, but that looks to be a top-notch publication from a team really dedicated to putting together a quality, well thought-out product. I'm always a sucker for maps and handmades like that medallion! Price seems like a steal. I wish Angel Bomb / Thyberg the best.

I loved reading my standard, but your photos make me wish I’d sprung for the deluxe!
Todd’s work has been impressing me from his first few chapbooks, and I’m looking forward to the companion edition of Peter Watts “The Things.”

Hello everyone,
Thank you for your comments on my latest book! I've only recently learned about LibraryThing, and have wanted to join the conversation, but regretfully, it's not set up for me to promote my work here. But I appreciate that you've found my work.
I've been a graphic designer for 30+ years and have been a letterpress printer for the past 15. I created my first book, a digitally enhanced letterpress graphic novel, with the help of a Jerome Book Arts Fellowship just over 10 years ago. Who Goes There? is my sixth book and something I'm very pleased with. At this point in my career, I'm focusing on books and less on clients and plan to be able to create books full-time within a couple of years.
I've been a huge fan of John Carpenter's The Thing since it scared the heck out of me as a kid. A few years ago while finishing up a large Lovecraft-inspired book, I started thinking about finding the copyright holder for WGT? It took a couple of years, but I finally stumbled upon John Betancourt's edition of Frozen Hell on Kickstarter and I was on my way. I've also used Kickstarter to launch my books and expose my work to a larger audience and this book was very successful. If you'd like to watch the teaser trailer, here's your chance, one of the illustrations in the book, the creature behind the door of the small room, was drawn from the set I built to film. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vW7ifYaCyiE
If you like Who Goes There? I'm currently working on The Things as a companion piece, written by Peter Watts. I'm also working on a chapbook edition of The Beast in the Cave by Lovecraft as an ode to old pulp stories. I've also got a couple more autobiographical pieces coming out this year as well. I spent a three week artist residency sailing around Svalbard, Norway in the Arctic Circle and hope to finally finish that this year as well.
I'd love to answer any questions anyone has about my work. Thank you all who've purchased my work.
Cheers!
Todd

I'd also like to add that Todd is not only a wonderful graphic artist, but just a darn nice guy :)
The Standard Edition of Who Goes There? should be an instant purchase for anyone interested in classic sci-fi, classic horror along the lines of Lovecraft, and weird tales. If I had my druther, I'd ask Todd to continue along these lines and consider publishing more classics such as E. M. Forster's, "The Machine Stops" - which consequently was first published in 1909 so I believe it's in the public domain now.

>8 Angelbomb: Exciting news on "The Beast in The Cave," I don't think I'd heard about that one yet! Is "Refuge" still in the works as well?

Thank you Nathan!
I am working on Refuge, but I've had to put it on the back burner for a while. I've got a few grants applications in process and because Refuge is really ambitious, I need to work on some books that I can publish before that one. Stay tuned, though, I'll keep you posted!
