I will try and join in. I’ve had a busy week at work, following busy months, but tomorrow I am travelling home by train and then spending the weekend just relaxing so will hopefully get some reading in.
I will definitely be reading Piranesi and maybe something else too.

I was going to clean the house after dropping the kids off at school today, but maybe I'll just read instead...
Books read from: A Town Like Alice, Hamnet
Books finished: A Town Like Alice
Time reading: 7 hours
Time posting: 1pm (GMT), 8pm on Saturday, 8am on Sunday
Snacks: Fruit toast and coffee. Chocolate milkshake made using new blender bought for healthy smoothies and soups - oops! Mothering Sunday afternoon tea :-)
Thoughts: Some of the older book club members remembered a film of A Town Like Alice in the ?50s. I had never heard of the book before it was suggested. I found it to be an extremely moving window into another time - not that long ago, but also eons ago at the same time.
Non-book activities: Choir Practice. IRL book club meeting to discuss A Town Like Alice. Looking after kids (no cleaning this weekend now...!). Dog walks. Mothering Sunday here in the UK so enjoyed a coffee in bed with extra reading time. Less reading time for the rest of Sunday as spent the day after church with my parents and children. Did read for another hour before bed.

Probably not much time to read this weekend other than the usual devotional stuff. I might get a little audiobook listening in on Saturday. I've had a couple of straggling designs come in from Nashville Needlework Market so I need to go pick those up in Johnson City. I'll also get a little in on my commute to and from work Sunday.
10nrmay
Wind and rain here today. No plans, no obligations.
I'm starting to read early and there may be a nap in my near future.

I meant to post to say that I was in but was busy reading ;-)
Saturday Update:
Books finished: The House of Silk by Anthony Horowitz and Summer at the Little Beach Street Bakery by Jenny Colgan (audio)
Books read from: The Thread Collectors (audio) and Mrs. Sherlock Holmes
I made corned beef and cabbage with potatoes and carrots for dinner. My non-reading activities were mostly like the dog walking, dish washing and cooking were all done listening to a book so they weren't really non-reading.

I've had a hard time sleeping (rare for me) but that means extra reading time!
Books read from: Killer Pancake by Diane Mott Davidson, Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson, This is not a Book by Michael Picard
Books finished: H(A)PPY by Nicola Barker
Time reading: 5
Time posting: Saturday afternoon
Snacks: chocolate
Thoughts: H(A)PPY is a very strange book - one to be experienced - but once I plunged into the book, I loved its philosophy, music, and artistry. It's not a book for everyone, but very unique.
Non-book activities: hiking, brunching, birding, shopping, laundry

Sunday afternoon update
Books read from: My main reading book for today was, once again, Empires of Light: Edison, Tesla, Westinghouse, and the Race to Electrify the World by Jill Jonnes. I am reading Memphis by Tara M. Stringfellow and am listening to Broken Throne by Victoria Aveyard.
Books finished in this weekend's Readathon: Dance With the Devil by Kit Rocha.
Book Thoughts: I have the perfect reading spot for morning reads. We have a patio door that faces east and the sun shining through that door in the morning is perfect mellow bright reading light. It is also warm and cozy when the weather here in Kansas has been miserable.
Non-Book activities: Cleaning out my car.
Time reading: 1 hour
Time posting:
Food: left overs for lunch. No Indian restaurant for Sunday lunch here in Kansas.
Total books finished since the Read-A-Thon Began: 309
Total Time Reading since the Social Distancing read-a-thon began: 855 hours since I started doing the weekend Read-A-Thon back in April of 2020.

Sorry, I fell off a bit.
I did spend some time reading on Friday on the train ride home - about an hour of Piranesi. Then I spent the weekend being alternatively on call for possible emergencies and exhausted from months of planning so I didn't do much of anything.

Weekend recap:
Books read from: Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson, This is not a Book by Michael Picard
Books finished: H(A)PPY by Nicola Barker, Killer Pancake by Diane Mott Davidson
Snacks: chocolate
Thoughts: Killer Pancake ended up being a disappointment; I usually enjoy my fluffy cozy murder mysteries but this one ended on such an outrageous, farcical note, I lost interest and was happy to toss it aside.
Non-book activities: hiking, brunching, birding, crocheting shopping, laundry

I have decided my readathons go from Friday at noon until Monday at noon. And this one would continue today but I am having lunch with a friend.
Books read from:
A Feather on the Water, historical fiction about women sent to Germany at the end of WWII to help with cleanup, each making the journey for different reasons
Wondrous Encounters, Richard Rohr's Lenten devotional
Mrs. Sherlock Holmes about one of the original women detectives
The Thread Collectors, historical fiction set at the end of the Civil War, a reread for my RLBG

Right now I am just visiting and trying to get things straightened out with my mother. We had to put her in a skilled nursing care home on February 14 because I was still working and didn't retire until February 28th. I stayed one week in Alabama to get my office cleaned out and then left for Kansas with 8 boxes of paper from my office still in it. I have been trying to sort and get through those boxes but the weather has been so crappy - windy, rainy, snowy, etc. that I have not been able to do much of that. I DON'T want to go back to Tuscaloosa with all 8 boxes, but ...
I plan on going back on March 29 and being there for a week. We are having a family meeting at Easter to decide what we will do with my mother, but at this time it looks like I will be moving back to Kansas much sooner than I planned. I was thinking that I would move in November, but it appears that if we are going to keep my mother at home that somebody is going to have to be with her.
