It might be good to have a separate discussion/meeting space for all who work in the area of making, designing, or illustrating books. Other members of this group can ask questions related to making books.
If you work in any areas related to creation of books, please feel free to introduce yourself here.

Well, we have a few groups to cover what you seek:
Writers and Self Publishers: https://www.librarything.com/ngroups/8391/Hobnob-with-Authors
Book Repairs and care of older books: https://www.librarything.com/ngroups/602/Book-Care-and-Repair
There's a couple different drawing groups:
https://www.librarything.com/ngroups/12046/Art-Books-learning-to-draw-Not-tradit...
https://www.librarything.com/ngroups/5276/Anime-Lovers
https://www.librarything.com/ngroups/92/All-About-Art
Not seeing any for Cover Design as of yet, but many of those will advertise in the Hobnob with Authors group.

Not quite.
We have members in our group who make/publish or involved in making/publishing books, either for fun or for a living. It would be good to give them an option to advertise their current projects or to inform us about their past productions. EDIT: advertising would be against LibraryThing policies. Please introduce yourselves if you wish, but without discussing specific projects.

>3 booksforreading: OH! Now I better understand what you're asking. And the answer is to give you the pages for Authors and Publishers use of Librarything.
Here is a page that explains how authors or publishers can use LibraryThing:
http://www.librarything.com/about/authors
http://www.librarything.com/about/publishers
Unless you want every post after mine to be flagged into oblivion.

I have looked at the rules and also emailed the administration and got answers.
Unless I hear otherwise, there is no actually a policy against publishers introducing themselves as members of a group.
They are not allowed to advertise or discuss their specific work here (I take my previous suggestion back - Thank you, gilroy, for pointing this out!), but I see nothing that prevents members from telling us what they do or answering questions about their trade in general.
Please go for it, if you would like; just don't advertise your work or discuss your specific projects.

Among other things I've done with my life, I am a self-taught hand bookbinder, typographer/book designer, bibliographer and author of fantasy fiction.
I am currently involved in a project from a new private press to publish a major classic of ancient Egyptian literature in a limited edition.
I have designed several books for my own private press as well as a self-published fantasy novel with cover art by my late wife.
I presume I have been vague enough to not incur the wrath of the LT content police.
DM me for more info if desired.

>6 Glacierman: Hi Glacierman! Welcome and good to meet another bookmaker.

I have tried a bit to introduce people to my work here on LibraryThing. I have found several people who collect my work on this space and it would be lovely to introduce new collectors. I run a private press called Angel Bomb. I've been a graphic designer for over thirty years and have made my living through design and letterpress printing for clients while occasionally making books. When commercial work plummeted during Covid, I began focusing on my books. I'm currently going to press with my 7th book and have a few more in the works.
I work in science fiction and horror but also create more personal work that deals with fear of the other, climate change, and societal issues. I was named a 2023 McKnight Book Arts Fellow and consider that to be an amazing honor. I illustrate, design, and print my books on one of four vintage presses; three Heidelbergs and one Vandercook. On personal books, I also do the writing.
If you search for my press name in Kickstarter, you can find out more about two of my larger projects and see videos about my work.
I'd happily discuss book making with you all.
Cheers,
Todd
