On the 19th I added a DVD, Theirs is the Glory. As is common with DVDs it didn't autocombine, and I think it also "lost" the main author and I had to re-add him and combine. I can't remember the exact sequence.
If I navigate to it by clicking on the image on my home page It takes me to https://www.librarything.com/work/book/246848704 and I have the "edit your book" link on the left hand side.
If I click on the title on "Your books" it takes me to https://www.librarything.com/work/23437680/book/246848704 and I have the "edit your book" link.
If I go to Brian Desmond Hurst it doesn't have the green dot next to it to show that I own it. I do show up under "recently added".
If I click on the title on the Brian Desmond Hurst page it takes me to https://www.librarything.com/work/23437680 and I don't have the "edit your book" link.
This seems to be a recurrence of https://www.librarything.com/topic/351651, https://www.librarything.com/topic/334517, and https://www.librarything.com/topic/312780

It will probably look fine tomorrow.
Unless you delete and reenter, which would probably really mess things up.

>2 MarthaJeanne: I thought it would look fine tomorrow on the 19th. But tomorrow came and went and is now yesterday.

Let's see.
Your first link is missing the work number, but does have the book number. It has a proper edit link, which is correct.
Your second link specifically goes to the book. So it should have the edit your book link.
Your third link goes to the work, so should NOT have the edit link.
The only bug I'm seeing is that the author page is not showing the check mark for you owning the book.

>1 DuncanHill: Yes, this is the same as https://www.librarything.com/topic/312780
You don't need to start a new bug report when you encounter the same problem, it's better to bump the old bug reports, especially the ones that staff have already commented on

>4 gilroy: But EVERY OTHER WORK I HAVE if I click on the work on the author page I am taken to a page WITH the "edit your book" link.
7gilroy
>6 DuncanHill: Because they have the proper checkmark. Once the checkmark gets fixed, it will probably fix the other problem.
8DuncanHill
>7 gilroy: You said "Your third link goes to the work, so should NOT have the edit link." But any other work page DOES have the edit link if I own a copy.
9gilroy
>8 DuncanHill: Correct. And I stand by that.
The author page is NOT showing you as owning it. So the link not giving an edit option is correct.
ONCE the author page shows you as owning the work, then you'll get the correct edit link.

Hitting recalculate title/author on the work page normally fixes this immediately. I did it on this one, so hopefully it's fine now

>2 MarthaJeanne: Another tomorrow and still not fine.
>10 SandraArdnas: No, no change. I did do that at the time, and have just done it again.

That feels like the old problem of semi-combining - it gets stuck in the middle - very often because there is a zero copy created alongside the original (usually for non book items) and the record looks split between the two.
The only way I had found to solve these is to pull the copy out from the work and then recombine them again.

>11 DuncanHill: What about now?
14DuncanHill
>13 Taliesien: Not long after I last posted here another editor did a combination which fixed it, though how I do not know, as I had a) already combined a stray zero-copy before coming here in the first place, and b) I had also checked multiple times to see if there was a stray cropping up later.
