Alnwick also has the famous Poison Garden.

>46 keristars: Oh NO!!!
I love her broadcasts; but she is brutalizing those books.
I take notes as well, in pencil and in a journal if they are extensive.
I use the back inside cover to list page numbers that I need to return to.
Which reminds me to complain about the most recent book from AbeBooks - it is almost entirely underlined.

Aw, I think it's great! It's like she's turning the book-object into a conversation, even if it's not in the typical marginalia method.
And since she's doing this reading with an eye towards interviewing the author, and needs to be able to go fast, it makes sense that dog-ears (and top vs bottom being significant!) are her preference.
I love page flags and post-its for library books or books I don't want to damage, but tbh they're not as convenient for flipping to a page.
I guess I'm not fussy about book-objects that aren't meant to be kept nice for rereading/sharing. :)
