Edit: My mistake, I did not realize I could customize the list of media types! I would still like to propose/discuss the secondary topic I brought up in my original post, modified slightly with the information I've learned:
I would like to add media types on a fourth level of hierarchy, eg Book > Paper Book > Hardcover > Leatherbound, or Book > Paper Book > Paperback > Mass Market. Unless I'm sorely missing something, I can only add media types on the second or third level of hierarchy, eg Book > Paper Book > Board Book or Book > Scroll.
I may be one of few would would use such a level of specificity but I'd like to float the idea nonetheless.
Original post below:
I've got several board books, and in previously used management software, the 'cover type' field, here equivalent to the 'media' field, included an option for board books which was separate from hardcover (in fact, it had a lot of more specific options like 'leather bound' or 'trade cloth' hardcover, 'mass market' paperbacks, etc.)
I'm sure not everyone cares to be so specific in their collections, but I feel I'm not the only one who would greatly benefit to be able to select 'board book' as a 'media' option on the same level as 'paperback' and 'hardcover' — for those young'uns who aren't quite equipped in the 'turning the page without ripping that page' department, for example.
I know there are other places to put this information, like tags or 'physical description,' but I think it would flow more smoothly and be more useful if it were in 'media.'
(As a footnote, I would also really appreciate the option for some more specificity, like aforementioned 'leather bound'/'trade cloth'/'mass market', which could be a level of hierarchy under 'hardcover'/'paperback', which users who weren't interested in that level of specificity could simply ignore, but it's possible I'm one of few who would really be interested in such a feature.)

There is no need to add these to the stabdard list. You can already add any media types that you find useful without affecting anyone else's experience.
The standard media types are fairly general so that there aren't lots of decisions to make that most people don't need.

>2 MarthaJeanne: I did not realize I could add my own media types!! Every day I learn something new. Thank you for your comment.
After poking around a bit, I would still like the option to have a level of hierarchy under 'paperback', 'hardcover,' etc — unless I'm missing something, I can only have new media categories 'nest under' either first or second level categories.
