Goodreads Import Omitted the "read" shelf

Hi,

Sorry to have so many questions all at once. Hope this is the last one!

So I noticed that the import from Goodreads didn't include the "read" shelf. This is pretty important; without it, LibraryThing gives me no indication of what I've already read.

In the goodreads_library_export.csv, this is available in the "Exclusive Shelf" column. I see that other shelves are also showing up in the "Bookshelves" column, but not this one.

So I started to think about how could I fix this. I thought, it is easy enough to extract the relevant rows from the Goodreads CSV and I could bulk-tag them on import... but only the Goodreads import wants to allow a sync of duplicates. I eventually tried to extract all the lines from the file and re-import it (currently waiting for that to run).

So, my questions are:

1) How can I report the bug in the import?

2) Is there a general "here's a file with a list of books I'd like to add a tag to and nothing else" mechanism?

For the bug: https://www.librarything.com/ngroups/897/Bug-Collectors

Nope on the tag: the closest is Power edit and you need to select the books to apply the tag on.

Do they all have something in common? Eg all have been rated? If so you can search or sort by those and then easily add a tag or add to Read collection with power edit.

>3 SandraArdnas:

No, they haven't all been rated. But, I was able to go through this and:

1. Create a temporary shelf
2. Add all books from Goodreads (I had the foresight to add a from-goodreads tag to all of them!)
3. For every Goodreads shelf other than "read", select the tag and remove them from the temporary shelf
4. What remains are the ones to mark "read", which I can then do.

Rather a hassle but it worked!
