This is, IIRC, the point at which I left the Xanth series. There was a lot of questionable stuff from the start, but people (including myself)were more oblivious in the 1980s. I can't believe there are 47 of these things: I do find it unsurprising that books 37 on are too obscure to get their own wikipedia entry. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xanth#Books

Even as a middle schooler I found the Xanth books too puerile to read any more than the first three.
