Everyone give a warm welcome to our newest employee, Zeph Craven, member @ZephCraven.
As you can see from his library, Zeph has some pretty cool books. Anyway, we've read a lot of the same stuff! (I promise this was only a minor reason we hired him, and he has no Latin or Greek whatsoever. He does have Italian though! And LibraryThing now has at least four employees with an serious interest in folklore.)
Zeph is new to LibraryThing—he's learning the ropes now. But you'll be seeing him on Talk, email and so forth.

Hi, Zeph! I hope you're enjoying Hutton's Triumph of the Moon. I think it's exemplary.

Always good to see someone with an interest in folklore.
What's your favorite Thompson motif? :-)

>6 waltzmn: Right now, I would say "Wind raised by troubling vessel of water." I recently finished some research on weather magic in New England folktales and that was a helpful one!

>11 anglemark: We have a LOT of overlap!
21ZephCraven
>16 .mau.: Ciao! First task, learn everything haha. I'll be helping out with member questions, site support, store orders, and similar tasks with LT and TinyCat to start with. :)

Hello from the future! (It's kind of a sluggish Friday afternoon here in Whanganui, New Zealand)

Hi from the Dutch coast, once had breakfast in Portland Maine. Didn't arrive there by the ship of the Flying Dutchman though.

>27 AnnieMod: Oh, certainly carry on as usual! Thank you!

Hi, and welcome! Glad to see you've read Station Eleven. So far, my favorite pandemic narrative is When winter came -- a country doctor's journey to fight the flu pandemic of 1918 by Mary Beth Sartor Obermeyer, published by the Mayo Clinic Press in 2023.
Special thanks for your listed psychology titles. Let's hear it for consciousness raising, and for compassion. My introduction to that subject was via the one and only Alice Miller, whose first best-seller was Thou shalt not be aware. Her later books gave the deepest insights into the Stalins and Hitlers of this world I ever saw in print. Here is that book link from her website:
