I’m going to try to join in. I’m babysitting on Saturday night but have no other plans for the weekend so I’m hoping to get plenty of reading time. Next week will hopefully be my first plan-free weekend in over a month and I can’t wait.
Still trying to finish It and Picnic at Hanging Rock .

I just finished Jason Pinter's Hideaway for a breather, but reading the Great Book of Amber, which are the 10 novels of the Amber Chronicles by Roger Zelazny in one collection. I'm currently starting The Courts of Chaos, Book 5. First time for Zelazny, I think. And sooooo impressed by him.
Foods: coffee and 3 picks from the Halloween bag of candy that I can't keep my hand out of. There might be some left over for Trick-or-Treaters.

>6 coachsully: The original 5 Amber novels are big favorites of mine & the second 5 are definitely worth a read.

Books read from: 2 - Picnic at Hanging Rock and The Shining
Books finished: Picnic at Hanging Rock
Time reading: Roundabout 3 hours
Non-book activities: Checking out some thrift shops and getting *this close* to doing real finds (so frustrating when you find something almost perfect, but there’s just a little something that isn’t right). Also doing jigsaw puzzles with nephew while babysitting, and watching parts of The Untouchables with brother post-babysitting.

Saturday Roundup
Books read from: English Creek by Ivan Doig. Tradition: The Highly Improbable, Ultimately Triumphant Broadway-to-Hollywood Story of Fiddler on the Roof by Barbara Isenberg. My computer book is On Girlhood: 15 Stories from the Well-Read Black Girl Library edited by Glory Edim. I am listening to Starless Crown by James Rollins.
Books finished:
Book Thoughts: I am not likely to make much progress on any of my books because I am still packing for the move. I missed the Joplin meetup again this year, but I promise to make to the one next year.
Non-Book Activities: A friend came over for a few hours last night and helped me pack a few things and another friend came over today and we made significant progress. I almost have my bedroom packed and should finish it tomorrow. Then I start on the dining room. I am starting to get the worries over this move. I have been waking up about 3 AM and am unable to get back to sleep. I know this is the right decision but it hurts me to leave friends and get rid of stuff. I did get my hotspot fixed (it needed a new battery) and I am back up and running on all bars, but I am too busy with other things to do much of anything online.
