I've never run into this before and I'm not sure if it's a bug or a feature. It looks like, when an award category has a comma in it, there's a prompt to split the award into multiple categories using the comma as a delimiter.
For an example you can check out the Association for Recorded Sound Collections' Award for Excellence, which legitimately does have categories like "Recorded Rock, Rhythm & Blues, or Soul".
I can see this being really handy for cleaning up old CK awards, where we frequently added multiple awards on the same line with a comma, like "Best Novel, Best First Novel|1999", so maybe it's just performing as designed. But that said, it would be handy if there were a way to dismiss it when it's not needed.

>1 hipdeep: "...there's a prompt to split the award into multiple categories using the comma as a delimiter..." Where are you seeing this? Sorry for my confusion. I see Categories with commas in them not being parsed out, neither on the Award page nor the Work page/s. They look OK to me.

>2 kristilabrie: I'm sorry, bad description on my part. It's under Edit -> Organize. For that award, it's https://www.librarything.com/award/4351/work.

>3 hipdeep: Ah, thank you! I'll ask the developers if this is intentionally designed or a bug.
For the devs: Go to https://www.librarything.com/award/4351/work and see that Categories with commas, e.g. "Recorded Rock, Rhythm & Blues, or Soul" are showing a split button next to them where it offers to split on the commas.

>1 hipdeep: Conclusion: there's no easy way for the system to know when a Category with commas shouldn't be split or not. If you don't need it, you can ignore it, but if you do need it, you want those split buttons to remain regardless. I think they need to stay as-is for now.
