Just wrapped up Pharaohs of the Sun. When the Moon Hits Your Eye, From Chicaza to Chickasaw, and Holding Back the River will follow.

Also reading British Combat Aircraft in Latin America in parallel; a reference book that is too large to lug around.

A recommendation, if you're into historical fiction and strange tales: The Impossible Thing by Belinda Bauer. I ate it up, and liked it so much that I'm determined to spread the love.

I've just started an audiobook by one of my favourite suspense writers, Lisa Jewell. This novel is Don't Let Him In and it has aroused my interest very quickly. I'm also reading an e-book, also suspense, called What She Knew by Gilly MacMillan

Most of the week I read The Last Days of the Dinosaurs: An Asteroid, Extinction and the Beginning of Our World by Riley Black. Very good nonfiction presented as a narrative.

I started The Book of (More) Delights: Essays by Ross Gay. The essays are dated and start in August, so I'll be reading along for the next year.

I'm also still reading The Fireman by Joe Hill. I stopped on Sunday because I'm reading it with a group on Instagram and our discussion day was yesterday. I imagine I'll be tearing through the next section this weekend.

I'm finishing up The Lady in the Tower by Alison Weir, re-reading The Sardonyx Net by Elizabeth A. Lynn (I have no idea when I first read it), and reading The Nevaris Chronicles ahead of DragonCon at the end of the month. Where I purchased it, and I hope to see one of this author's panels or readings this year.

Ghost Ship: The Mysterious True Story of the Mary Celeste and Her Missing Crew

4/5 stars
Very interesting book about a ship that has gone astray and the lengths they went to try and find this ship! I thought this was quite good. Non-Fiction

I've finished the delightful short story collection, The Little World of Don Camillo by Giovanni Guareschi. Published in the U.S. in 1950, these satirical, loving stories tell of the rivalry between the village priest in a small, rural Italian town and the town's Communist mayor. You can read my longer review on my 50-Book Challenge thread.

Next I'll be reading The New York Game: Baseball and the Rise of a New City by Kevin Baker. This is a relatively recent history that was a birthday present this year from my wonderful wife.

Fairy Tale

3/5 stars
Interesting but very lengthy story about a young man, Charlie who meets Howard Bowditch who lives alone. Charlie ends up doing chores for him and he later finds out that Bowditch knows of a portal to another world! Horror
