Per https://www.librarything.com/topic/373493#8942987: Apparently, recalculating the author is ignoring the manually entered author (which @gilroy says didn't use to be the case: https://www.librarything.com/topic/373493#8939854) and is just recalculating based on the editions, which is bad if the only edition has bad author information.
To reproduce:
1. Go to a work where the only edition has bad author data like https://www.librarything.com/work/32348365/editions or https://www.librarything.com/work/32244445/editions. See that members have corrected the author name manually.
2. Hit the "Recalculate title/author" link. You may need to wait until the following day to see changes.
Issue: The manually entered author (which is correct) is ignored and the bad author data is back, presumably because recalculating just looks at the editions.
