I’ve noticed that sometimes it’s actually not possible to modify the name of an author of a work: if I change it, the name is automatically reassigned to the previous author.
An example is the author of the work “Catechismo Della Chiesa Cattolica: Compendio” (https://www.librarything.com/work/3271354): no matter how many times I try to correct it by assigning the author to “Catholic Church,” it is consistently reverted to “United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.”
Why does this happen?

>1 omarotto: I believe this is an instance of the bug described here: https://www.librarything.com/topic/373623. The bug is that recalculation disregards any edits to the author(s) and uses only the author(s) from the edition data.
