Hello, my book covers aren't showing. I have updated my computer, rebooted, and this site is the only site doing this. Any recommendations on how to fix this issue?

>3 GrammyTammyM: Some tips for a bug report: There are things the developers almost always need to know:
1. Your device (e.g. Windows computer, Mac, Chromebook, iPhone) and if possible type (e.g. MacBook Air 2023; Dell something-or-other)
2. Your system version (e.g. Windows 11, MacOS Sequoia 15.6.1)
3. How you are accessing LT (via app or browser), and if by browser:
3A. Browser and version (e.g. Chrome 106; Firefox 142.0.1)
I'm not a developer, so that doesn't help me, but I too see books when I look at your library. Which suggests a couple of things. If you haven't already, try logging out and logging in again, and then try clearing your browser cache.
Also, try logging in with another browser, if you can, and see if it also happens there.

Had they shown up before? When did they stop?
From what I can see a lot https://www.librarything.com/stats/GrammyTammyM/covers of your covers are Amazon covers. Can you see covers when you go to the same book on Amazon.com?
Is there a difference in what shows up between an Amazon cover and a cover for one of the books where you are using member uploaded (such as https://www.librarything.com/work/33070508/book/278071107 for example)?

Yes, they always shown up until yesterday. As I said, I tried updates, etc. I can see them on Chrome, so I won't be using Microsoft Edge anymore.

>8 GrammyTammyM: If you can see the covers in Chrome, that really does suggest you try clearing the cache in Edge. Assuming you'd prefer to use Edge, anyway.

I am not sure how to do that but I will check Thank you

>11 norabelle414: Thank you for your help. I did all that you suggested. Unfortunately, it didn't help. Another site didn't have this problem. At least I can use Chrome without problems, though this is the only site I had this problem on Edge. Weird.

>12 GrammyTammyM: Thanks for your testing efforts. I just tried logging in as you on Windows/Edge and am still seeing your covers, so we need to do more digging.
I've just cleared your member caches on our end; can you open an incognito window in your Edge browser and let me know if you're still missing covers or not? Thanks again.

Another member is complaining of the same issue: https://www.librarything.com/topic/352818#8946277, and someone emailed us around the same time with the same issue. I'm guessing this is related to Edge browsers only, maybe they're blocking content/images. We'll post here with updates.

For members having this issue of Edge hiding covers on LibraryThing, can you let us know:
1. Your Edge privacy/tracking prevention setting (Balanced/Strict/Custom)?
2. Do you have “Enhance your security on the web” enabled in Edge?
3. Any ad-blocking/privacy extensions installed in Edge?
4. Your Windows Security → App & browser control → Reputation-based protection settings?
5. If you use other antivirus/firewall software besides Windows Security?

I have ad blocking, everything else just normal Windows settings

>16 GrammyTammyM: I have ad blocking, everything else just normal Windows settings.
Since the developers are perhaps done for the day, I'll suggest that you try turning off ad blocking, just temporarily, and visit LibraryThing and see what happens. There shouldn't be any danger; LibraryThing doesn't have ads. :-)
Of course, you don't have to do this; if you're truly satisfied using LT with Chrome, then it doesn't matter to you. But that sounds like a very likely culprit.

>16 GrammyTammyM: If turning off ad blocking doesn't help, you could try allowing LibraryThing and Amazon’s image domain without sacrificing your overall security:
1. Allow LibraryThing in Edge:
- Go to Edge Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Tracking prevention → Manage exceptions
- Add: https://www.librarything.com
2. Allow images from LibraryThing & Amazon:
- Go to Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Images → Allow → Add a site
- Add: https://www.librarything.com, and https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com
3. Add LibraryThing as a Trusted Site in Windows:
- Open Control Panel → Internet Options → Security → Trusted sites → Sites
- Add: https://www.librarything.com
You'll want to restart your Edge browser after running the above steps, then let me know if your covers are showing up or not?

I just did some testing, and was able to trigger the broken Amazon covers, and fix it using my suggestions at >18 kristilabrie:. I think the 1st step was sufficient, but you may need to add steps 2 and 3 if covers still don't show up.

I am running LibraryThing on Microsoft Edge on Windows 11. Everything is updated. Amazon book covers have not been showing for a couple weeks (other book covers show fine). On the same computer, the covers show in Chrome. The problems are true for both the stable release of Edge (140.0.348554) as well as Canary (the beta release).
I have tried the steps given by kristilabrie and waltzmn above. Still not working.

>19 kristilabrie: I was able to get it working after all. The first time I followed kristilabrie's steps, when trying the first step, I put in "librarything.com". The covers started showing after I put in "https://www.librarything.com". My mistake! I'm glad kristilabrie put in the follow-up post today (9/11) at 9:37am.
Thanks for the help!
