My most favorite Goodreads dream has come true....on LibraryThing! How many hours have I spent devising semi-evil ways to make GR do my "AND NOT" bidding.
But here it is. And I've even tested it too.

>1 DebiCates: Thank you! I've been on LT for ages and did not know that page existed!

>2 amanda4242: I'm super glad, Amanda. At last I can pay something forward for all the help you good folks at LT have given me.

>3 DebiCates: One of the many things I love about this site is that there always seems to be another corner I haven't explored.
I've sent you a friends request on GR, so you can ask me questions there, too if you want.

I think this page is out of date. Since the last update of Search, the quotes no longer do anything.

>5 gilroy: Thanks. I noticed they didn't seem to have any effect on one of my attempts, but I always figure it's something I just don't understand! ha
I think the AND NOT works pretty wonderful. Except after you do a power edit. The results it displays back are not right. Not until you press search (same condition) again.

>6 DebiCates: I think that what's happening there is that the re-index of your catalog when you change it is pretty fast, depending on how many books you have, but not instantaneous. So your first search was probably done before the results of your power edit were baked in.
