How to allow Admins to edit a post?

We have an additional admin now on The Poetry Collective group.

Is there a way to allow any admin to edit a post originated by another admin?

>1 DebiCates: Nope. An admin can hide or remove a post from view, but only the original poster can edit it.

Bummer. But thanks for the answer, Amanda.

You cannot change somebody else's data. Not the books in their account. Not their messages.

Think about it. This is not something you would really want.

Actually, there is a way. If you give the other admin your password, they can change any of your data.

>3 DebiCates: I assume you're asking so the posting schedule in The Poetry Collective can be kept up to date? A group wiki would probably be a better way to keep that up to date than relying on one person to edit a post. I can help set up a wiki if you want.

>4 MarthaJeanne: Under normal circumstances you are right, I wouldn't want that. But as Admins of the same group thought possibly there could be a setting for a message as "by admin" allowing another admin to modify it, too.

I'm in IT so the sharing of password is anathema to me.

>5 amanda4242: Amanda that's an intriguing idea and I would love to learn how to do some adds or edits in the wiki.

In that case, though, "anyone" can edit, correct?

>7 DebiCates: Editing a wiki is easy since there's an edit option in the left side menu and on each section of the page.

Any logged in LT member has the ability to edit a wiki; in practice, not a lot of people do. All changes are logged and can be undone if necessary.

>7 DebiCates: I've gone ahead and created a wiki for The Poetry Collective. You can play around with it and change whatever you want.

@TonjaE take a look at this link that Amanda set up for The Poetry Collective. It is the only good solution for us to both be able to edit the Roster.

>10 DebiCates: One suggestion from my experience with the 75ers wiki. It's convenient to have a link to the wiki handy for everyone - I put it in the description of the group on the group page.

Now that I have another new group (Welcome Goodreaders to LibraryThing), I should really get cracking to avail myself of the wiki page option.

How do I create a brand new wiki page for that group?

>17 DebiCates: There are a few ways to make a new wiki page, all of which are kind of silly!

1) on a different wiki page (such as your personal wiki page*), create a link to your new wiki. The link won't work because the page doesn't exist but if you click on it it will ask you if you want to create the page
2) Search for your wiki page that does not exist and you'll get a prompt to create the new page
3) Go directly to the wiki page that does not exist yet by entering the URL (e.g. by going to the wiki page of an existing group wiki and then editing the URL) and you'll get a prompt to create the new page. You could even type a link in a message here, and then click it to go there.

*there's a link to your personal wiki page on the left sidebar in the wiki

>18 norabelle414: They're not silly! They're to prove you are worthy of making a wiki page: first, go to the place that doesn't exist; next, cut down the mightiest tree in the forest with a herring...

Well, obviously, this is not meant to be taken literally. It refers to any manufacturers of dairy products.

Quite possibly, along with performing the fish slapping dance. Watch out for the French judge.
