Please do not spam on LibraryThing. Yrs, we will get rid of the spam quickly, but it is still an aggravation to have to do it again. You advertising your book is SPAM.
Before doing any of the other things you might be tempted to do: If a book has been entered by only one person, and that person gave it 5 stars and a great review, and that person has not entered any other books, the person is almost certainly the author, or possibly the author's mother. LT readers aren't stupid. We know to avoid such books. These things are a clear notice to steer clear. If you enter 200 books or so with thoughtful reviews, and interact with us in Tyalk about your reading and other topics besides your book, we might start taking your self-advertising seriously. Certainly not before.

>1 MarthaJeanne: Hope this works, it's good advice and I know it must be frustrating.
Also wanted to say you made me chuckle with "or possibly the author's mother"!

Hello everyone!
I am new to the general audience after decades as an academic researcher. As an avid reader, I have my fiction favorite authors (Grisham, Patterson, LaBatte, Baldacci) and started reading memoir authors as I began to create my own story under my pen name. My professional journal articles involved everything from terrorism comments, workplace conflict scenarios, and my dissertation dealing with conflict analysis and resolution options known as the ombudsman, plus articles dealing with medical research ethics. Very stressful topics so in my later years I'm playing catchup with books I purchased years ago never having the time to enjoy someone else's words. I'm excited to join Library Thing!

>2 DebiCates: Guess it didn't work.
>3 ElizaGrayson: This was not an invitation to talk about being an author. It was an attempt to say DON'T talk about being an author here (or anywhere else on LT).
