How to fix the page count indicator in all my books?

I imported my library from Goodreads. It wasn't until a month after doing so (and doing a lot of work on my library to make it more LibraryThing centric) that I discovered the GR Import has a bug (I've reported it). The bug is that the book page count indicator is not set to "1,2,3..." but to "i, ii, iii..." which makes sorting by page count not function properly, which means I can't sort on page count.
I've been fixing that field one by one, and don't have it even half fixed. Besides that's a waste of potential reading time.
I wonder if I could export my LT library, fix that indicator field, and re-import LT? They say that doesn't work (and possibly never will). But does that include if I stripped the import data to just the LT book ID and that indicator field it wouldn't work? An UPDATE not an ADD?

>2 gilroy: Man. That's a bummer.
So, on fields that do export can a person export LT, fix a field, and do an UPDATE (not ADD) or is that another premise that won't fly either?

>2 gilroy: "manual updates"....but the data came from the import. I'm not arguing, I'm just trying to understand if "manual updates" means it's not some sort of real field?? Or am I reading that wrong?

I'd ask the powers that be if it can be done automatically via a script or some such, preferably in the bug thread where they're bound to see.

>5 SandraArdnas: I did ask back when I reported the bug and they confirmed it was a bug. No reply to doing behind the scenes magic for me. :'(

>6 DebiCates: Has the bug been fixed? If the bug is not closed and no one asked explicitly for automated fixing of previous imports, ask for it there. I assume you're not the only one affected and once the bug itself is squashed, I'd expect the likelihood of them devising a way increases exponentially with the number of people it would help.
