In the Your Collections module, I'd like to specify the number of columns to use. I find the default width too narrow for my naming convention.

Also in Your Collections, we have the option to sort the collections a couple ways (alphabetically my preference), but everywhere else the list of collections sort maybe by the order in which they were added. I'd like to see a global sort option apply to all collection displays.

How about trying a subject line that describes what you want?

Sorry. Doesn't appear to be an option to edit the subject line.

You can go into Settings -> Collections and organize your collections however you want. That order is how it will appear throughout the site other than the home page module.

Yes, but it is a very slow process when you have a lot of collections.

>5 cbarlock: it is a very slow process {to organize your collections in Settings -> Collections} when you have a lot of collections.

You are right, it is. I have about 140 that I've put in, plus the LT standard ones (which don't always show up in listings -- I don't use most of them, and they don't show up on the Collections listing on my Home/Home and Home/Profile pages). And I've hand-ordered all of them. The best I can say is that after you've reordered all of them, it's not too bad to add or rename a half-dozen and then re-order only those!

But you might not actually want pure "alphabetically". For example, where do you really want "Your Library" to show up? or the other LT standards, like "Currently reading" and "Read but unowned"? Do you really want them aphabetically mixed in with the ones you've created yourself?

>5 cbarlock: Collections are unwieldy for having too many. I'd consider using tags for many of use cases.

>6 LeslieWx: You have a point, but I don't use the LT standards, so I would just mark them to not be displayed, at least in the Your Collections list. I do agree that once you've ordered the list, re-ordering a small number is not so bad.

Of the two suggestions, I'd much prefer to have the ability to specify the number of columns used in Your Collections.

I am struggling to understand the problem. You only have 390 books and but as you have marked the library as private, I do not know how many collections you have.

May I suggest you look at using tags where appropriate and using power edit to move a "group" of selected books to a specific collection

If you want to sequence your books within a collection, Othercallnumber is a useful field to use.

You may also find it helpful to have a "working collection" which you use as an interim set when sorting books out.

Hope this helps.

Where is the Your Collections list?

>11 paradoxosalpha: Yes, it is. That module could use some work. In column mode it does end up overlapping when the names are long. You might actually get some action if you reported that as a bug. RSIs seldom get worked on.
