I am sure that some of my collection may be wanted by others. As I have some specialist media that I used for research, I am happy to pass them on for postage and low cost. Can LT create a field where an item can be shown as for sale. Then the item can simply be transferred one client to another.

From the Terms of Service:
LibraryThing is not an advertising medium. Egregious commercial solicitation is forbidden.
Why would LT create a field for advertising? Also, the LT entry could not be transferred. LT is not a source.

>1 nadineeg: You could create a "to sell" collection, and reference it via a link from a different online platform, where you would actually make sales appeals and/or transactions. Prices in the Comment field would be innocuous enough.
But >2 MarthaJeanne: is correct that such use is not in line with LT's stated purpose, and you shouldn't expect development to support it.
