Hi all, new member (since last year) Martin here, on behalf of "By Our Hands We Make Our Way" a community craft/making/music/art venue in Nottingham UK. I'm slowly adding books to our Library Thing, as a way of opening up the physical library to the public more.

Hello and welcome!

>1 WeMakeOurWay: That is very cool, Martin. TinyCat (tiny catalogue) might be something you'd be interested in, if you aren't using already. It's a way to put your library on the Internet in a public-facing sort of way. If that interests you, start a new topic here to attract comments on how to get started. I only became aware of it recently myself so am not a knowledgeable resource.

Welcome.
I'm to far away to visit, but the pics are lovely and I would otherwise.
A word of advice: switch your main sources to OverCat and some libraries and leave Amazon as last resort. Their data is getting worse by the day. It used be messed up only for books from their marketplace, but now they are adding all sorts of crud to titles no matter what. Case in point: The Left Hand of Darkness (S.F. MASTERWORKS): A groundbreaking feminist literary masterpiece

>4 SandraArdnas: Ah, thanks! I'll check that out and see what difference it makes. I'll be happy to bypass Amazon. I'd be glad to add my own data too, some of the books we have are difficult to find good covers or information for...

>3 DebiCates: Thank you Debi, I have wondered about TinyCat, and your message persuaded me to create an account and trial... It looks pretty straightforward so far, but I'm right at the beginning of figurening it out!

Hello guys, my name is Matheus and I'm new here. Just added my book collection on Library Thing and started to write book's analysis of books that I'm reading in the moment.

>7 matheusangelo: Welcome. Looks like you found your way around many of LT's features already, but if you need help, ask away.

>8 SandraArdnas: Thanks! I'm trying to understand the lists, because I want to follow them but they add the books on my library. A little more time and I'll get it

>10 matheusangelo: The only way to add it to your library from a list is if you mouse over the cover or title and click Add in that popup. That's always the Quick Add to your library (as opposed to Add Book tab at the top of each page, which gives you more options), and it's the same across the site whenever you mouse over a title, whether it's in a list, tag page, search results, author page etc.
To just add as your pick on the list, click the 'add to your list' blue button on the right, or 'add work to list' at the top right sidebar to add a new one that's not on the list. You don't need to have it in your library to add a new one to the list either.
Hope that helps. Also, if you don't like those mouseover popups, they can be disabled in the settings. Home > Settings > Other > Disable work and member info boxes
