This month we are going with the color of pink and our item is an umbrella or parasol. The umbrella can be a regular one to keep you dry or a beach umbrella, golf umbrella or sun shade. And of course the pink can be of any shade from the lightest blush to the brightest neon pink.

To help you out here are a few examples of books that have or have had pink on the cover and contain an umbrella:

: Summer Island by Shelley Noble
: No Judgement by Meg Cabot
: No Words by Meg Cabot
: Mary Poppins by P.L. Travers
: Peony in Love by Lisa See
: It’s Raining Men by Julie Hammerle
: The Secret Mandarin by Sara Sheridan
: Forgiving Paris by Karen Kingsbury
: The Pink Umbrella Murder by Frances Crane

Have fun with this and if you like, here is the Wiki: https://wiki.librarything.com/index.php/Colored_CoverKIt

I have quite a few pink volumes but nothing with an umbrella or parasol. I will probably go with Box Hill by Adam Mars-Jones

I have a movie version of Mary Poppins with a pink cover and Julie Andrews as Mary on the cover.

>6 LadyoftheLodge: I picked mine up at a library sale in 2022. But Mary Poppins has always been a favorite. I even acted like a kid (I was over 40) when I met Bert and Mary at Disney World.

I have quite a lot of contemporary romances with pink covers, so I will choose one of those. Finding a cover featuring an umbrella was quite hard, but I found a few and will read Once Upon A Dream by Mary Balogh and Grace Burrowes.

I had already planned a re-read of Celia's House by D. E. Stevenson (1943) in July, which I think was inspired by Jane Austen's Mansfield Park.

Although it looks sort of coral/orange here, my copy definitely has a pink border, pink lettering and a pink umbrella:

I found the perfect book on Kindle Unlimited. Is it worth renewing my KU, just for one month? Meant to be on a strict budget but I am tempted.
Maybe someone with KU would like to try it for this challenge and let me us know if it is good? :)

My retirement was confirmed! Starting February, a new life starts! And so I shall be reading The Retirement Plan by Sue Hincenbergs. One glimpses at an umbrella in the corner.
