Have come from college to find I have repeat-read too many books, and therefore have gone to the library at least 3 times a week since May. Here are the results:
1. The Stand, Stephen King. Inspired the creators of "Lost," was definitely worth a read. Worth it.
2. Carrie, Stephen King. I cannot believe it took me this long to read this book. Classic.
3. Breakfast at Tiffany's, Truman Capote. Amazing. Loved the movie, but I completely cherish this book.
4. The Washingtonienne, Jessica Cutler. SATC in Washington, updated for the 2000s. What's not to love?
5. Girl with a Pearl Earring, Tracy Chevalier. Repeat read, but completely amazing.
6. The Lady and the Unicorn, Tracy Chevalier.
7. Girl in Hyacinth Blue, Susan Vreeland.
8. Pilate's Wife: A Novel of the Roman Empire, Antoinette May.
9. A Thousand Splendid Suns, Khaled Hosseini.
I'll need to find some library slips to update...but I'm curious about how many I'll have read by August.

You're lucky--the library branch closest to me is awful!! The first time I went in, I wondered where all the books were, but it turns out they just don't have that many.
Isn't Breakfast at Tiffany's wonderful?

The library system here in central Maryland is fabulous (although we pay the taxes to make it so). The library provides RSS feeds for new materials they put int he catalog each day. I sort through and keep a list of stuff I'm interested in and reserve a batch of books every now and then. So all I have to do is go pick 'em up when they arrive. Combine that with recommendations from LT and I have a reading list of about 60 fiction and about 50 nonfiction books queued up...
