This letter from Newt Gingrich is the perfect illustration of why he is so dangerous.

As long as the Republicans continue to bloviate about the scenery in fantasyland they will continue to be irrelevant. If they straighten up and fly right, especially with the original POMO thinker of the party calling the shots they will once again turn dangerous.

If his agenda was simply to lend Obama a helping hand I'd think he saw the light, but that's not his agenda. His agenda is the completion of BushCo's establishment of the unitary executive in America, either with him as that executive, or another flunky like Bush he can use in that role.

Newt Gingrich is at his most dangerous when he sounds the most reasonable.

Well Geneg--he is right. There are some that have to get over the election and I think that's the point. It makes the entire party look like sore losers and marginalizes the most disaffected. That's not how to move forward. At least from my standpoint I'm hoping the Republicans at least make an honest attempt and put real input into pulling us out of the mess we're in.
