JP i believe its against the law to throw rice at weddings in some places

10jugglingpaynes
Feb 5, 2009, 5:26 pm

Even virtual rice? Who's going to eat it? Virtual pigeons?

And yes, there is a law in some places against rice. Rice is not good for birds and it can also make sidewalks slippery, causing nasty lawsuits.

Where is Kerian with her confetti when you need her?

11MrAndrew
Feb 5, 2009, 5:57 pm

JP is killing virtual pigeons and causing virtual people to slip on the virtual sidewalk, resulting in virtual injuries and virtual lawsuits. It's virtually chaos.

I have a friend named Melia (the lia is emphasized) after her grandmothers Melany and Gloria. I liked that combination.

Chocolate, chicken, chocolate butterscotch chip cookies, and smoothies combine to make something known simply as "pure deliciousness." You should try it sometime!

77jugglingpaynes
Feb 9, 2009, 9:15 am

They combine names a lot in Spanish communities rissa. Also unusual names, but you have to be careful with that. I have a cousin who hates her name, Waleska.

The latest rumor is that several HEers have the "mom voice," "mom look," and there is at least one "evil eye." I'll bet if you had us all in a room together with leaders of various nations we could bring about world peace.

#81-The Librarian Shush should be very effective at the negotiation table.

84Renald128

#76 and 77: lefty and JP: Yeah here we have lots of combined names and IMHO that I would prefer to name my kids in a normal name and if I want to honor some member of my family I would put my baby that person's name but not combined names...and JP I know like 2 Waleskas here :D

#79: kirby: Yeah I have the teacher look too, but I have applied it to my nephews and it has worked too. The other teachers used to call me to their classrooms to tell their students off if they were misbehaving.

#81: foggi: You have to teach me the library sshhhh! in the meet-up!!

85pollysmith

86rissa
Feb 9, 2009, 12:47 pm

as I said, I like the idea of combining the grandmothers' names, I just think you should only do it if it comes out as a nice name Melia is a name that came out nicely. If I named my baby by combining grandmothers' names though, it would come out as Mylie (pronounced the same as hannah montanna), so that's not happening.

LadyN has a secret identity as The Crazy Shouting Lady. Witnesses to her vigilantism say she appears every Wednesday morning on the East London overground service, yelling at commuters who are too daft to get out of the train and elevator doorways to let people off. Her costume consists of a shiny red jumpsuit, horn-rimmed glasses, and leather boots with low wedge heels (for safety). She no longer wears a cape. Weapon of choice is a fashionable purse filled with rocks.

Re: Capes on the underground - really not a good idea. If one of those babies gets caught in the doors, it's curtains. My friend nearly got strangled when the end of her scarf got held in the doors when she got off the train... *shudder*... Thank goodness she managed to unwind it from around her neck before the train disappeared into the tunnel.

Well that was a cheery anecdote wasn't it!! maybe not so good for a comic book!

Puppetmaster was tragically hit by a piano today. Viewing hours are from 10:00am to 5:00pm tomorrow, and the funeral service will be held on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, please contribute money to Advocates for the Advancement of Puppets (AFTAOP).

Oh, our dear puppetmaster. If only she could have mastered the prevention of a piano falling on her head, say on the What Are You Eating in March thread.

319catbastet

318- I'm sure that they do. Oh, it's all too sad! And that isn't the worst of it! I suspect... foul play!

320Kerian
Mar 2, 2009, 4:53 pm

It is said before puppetmaster's death that she gained use of a timeturner and that she used it to enter the future. She is really from 1900. Perhaps the thought of raining pianos in our twenty-first century had excited her too much.

323MrAndrew
