I was wondering if people had good suggestions for books (fiction or non-fiction) that are set in New England. I'm looking for Boston and Maine in particular, but anywhere in N.E would be great - thanks!
I'm really open to any and all suggestions, although I am also looking for a really great non-fiction book about the Revolutionary War history of Boston.
I really love reading books about or set in the places I am in, and currently I'm living in Boston.

How about Zodiac byNeal Stephenson? It describes itself as an eco-thriller - it's about an eco-activist trying to stop Bad People polluting Boston harbour, among other things. The geography of Boston and its waterways is pretty central to some of it. And imho it's a cracking read!

Most of what Dennis Lehane writes is set in Boston.
The Midwifes Tale is great non-fiction set in Maine but starting off in Boston. It is a great book that looks at the social history of the time.
