Hello fellow constant readers!!
I was wondering if you guys might like to help me out. I have the rose from Roland's gun tattooed on my ankle, but I really wanted to add a quote underneath it, but I cannot seem to find one that really sticks out to me......
I want it to be SK, but it doesn't have to be from the Dark Tower Series. I remember playing the 'Guess the Quote' game and some people are awesome at finding passages and lines. I figured this would be the place to come to ask for advice.
I have a picture of the tattoo on my profile, it's on the inside of my left ankle.

a. I like your dogs
b. What is the max length for a quote. Most my favorite ones are pretty long and would probably wrap around your whole ankle.
c. What's your fav. King book/character maybe I can find a quote from it/them.

Probably a line or two, nothing like a whole paragraph.
Fav. character is Susan Delgado and Fannie (I think that's right---The Stand, someone please correct me if I'm wrong)
Fav. books are Dark Tower Series, Bag of Bones, Rose Madder....
Thanks---my dogs are my babies!

If it were mine, I'd use "All things serve the Beam," but I'll put some thought into it. What a neat idea...

Thanks- I know you'll come up with a great one, I remember your name from the 'quote game'!
I like that one too, but it's not quite 'it', know what I mean?

I've always been partial to the first line of the Dark Tower series:
"The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed."
I copied that from memory, so it might not be exact, but it's pretty darn close and it's quite possibly my favorite opening line. Ever.

I adore that opening line. If I were to get a tattoo based on the dark tower series and it was to be a quote, that would be the one.
I do want a tattoo quote based on a book, but I haven't found anything I'm certain of yet. I love that opening quote, but I don't know if I love it enough to get it tattooed on my body. Oh well, I'll find it at some point...

Of course you could do just a portion of it like "the gunslinger followed" sort of evocative, yet mysterious.

Perhaps taking a short quote and putting into Latin would add to the mystery. Plus you can lie about what it says when it suits you :).

>10 Madcow299: If you do that, have it proofread at least 10 times. Ink is permanent and the last thing you want to do is show it off and have a typo noticed by someone when you're showing it off.

I had that happen to a friend. His tattoo artist talked with an accent, so he spelled with one too. The word was suppose to be 'Property', but it was spelled 'Propety'...just like the guy said it!

Of course, my favorite Stephen King quote ever is "You can't be careful on a skateboard, man." But I'm not sure that's what you want under a rose tatoo. :-)
What about one of these:
"It is the tale, not he who tells it."
"There are other worlds than these." (my favorite for a tatoo)
"Get busy living or get busy dying" (Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption)
"First comes smiles, then lies. Last is gunfire."
"Life is more than just steering a course around pain." (Desperation)
"All is silent in the halls of the dead."
"We are going to fight. We are going to be hurt. And in the end we will stand."
"Tell the truth and shame the devil." (It) (and Storm of the Century, I think)
