I have a copy of Everything is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer- paperback (ISBN: 9780141008257) in reasonable condition with some wear and tear and a bit of spine angle.
It is on a lot of wish-lists, so I thought to ask here first before I list it in BookMooch. Let me know if you would like it and I will reserve it for you - I am happy to send this worldwide.

I currently only have the Da Vinci Code up for trade. It's the hardcover edition, and has slight shelf wear and slightly dirty. I'm currently still reading it, but it will be available to ship by 9/6/09. Just a side note for anyone who's interested, I have a catagory on my LT for books that will be available to mooch. Currently, there's only the Da Vinci Code but there should be more in the future!

Just thought I would post this here: Just in case anyone is interested I have a copy of "Marley & Me: Life and Love with the World's Worst Dog" that I was going to put on BookMooch... It's condition isn't perfect: The book itself is in good condition, but the dust jacket is a bit worn. It is a bit torn at the top of the spine and has a few bend on the inside front flap.

Repost from old thread:

I just got the list of books I need for school. I'm not optimistic they'll be many kicking around, but I might as well try!

Goodnight Desdemona by Ann-Marie Macdonald (I think it's the book, not the play, but I'm not actually positive)

Solomon Gursky Was Here by Mordecai Richler

The Tin Flute by Gabrielle Roy

Not Just a Pretty Face: The Ugly Side of the Beauty Industry by Stacy Malkan

and Turbo Chicks by Mitchell Rundle

The others are textbooks:

Philosophy of Sex and Love by Trevas, Zucker, and Borchert

A New Anthology of Canadian Literature in English by Bennett and Brown

Feminist Issues by Nancy Mandell

and Making Sense of Language by Blum

Thanks for reading!

I have a few items that I wanted to give my fellow LT members first dibs on. Each is on a wishlist or two. Each book is in different condition, if you are looking for collecting purposes some are old Library books with all stickers and such included. All the books are second hand though some are in worse condition then others...

Fear and Trembling by Robert Bloch
The Hitchhiker by R.L. Stine
One Last Kiss by R.L. Stine
The Beast under the Wizard's Bridge by Brad Strickland - Mooched
The Importance of Being Ernest by Oscar Wilde
Everlasting by Kathleene E. Woodiwiss
Murder Well-Done by Claudia Bishop
The Letter, the Witch and the Ring by John Bellairs - Pending
The Ghost in the Mirrior by John Bellairs - Pending
Domestic Pleasures by Beth Gutcheon
Bridge to Terabitha by Katherine Paterson (This is the movie tie-in)
Socks by Beverly Cleary
Pirates by Will Osborne and Mary Pope Osborne
Day of the Dragon by Mary Pope Osborne
Blossom by Andrew Vachss
Sudden Mischief by Robert B. Parker
Past Pretense by Sharon Gwyn Short
The Science of Discworld by Terry Pratchett, Ian Stewart and Jack Cohen (This is the first of the three books).

If you're intrested or want to know the condition feel free to drop a message on my profile here on LT. I do ship worldwide, but I am on limited funds so it could be a bit of a wait if I get a lot of requests. I have a whole other batch to list later as well.

My mom gave me a box of books to put in our yard sale later this month, but I thought I'd offer them on BookMooch instead.
The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher (very beat up paperback copy)
the following are all hardcovers in decent condition:
State Scarlet by David Aaron
The Scarlet Mansion by Allan W. Eckert
The Sands of Time by Sidney Sheldon
Jackie After Jack: Portrait of the Lady by Christopher Andersen

Due to limited funds, I'm only doing mooches in the U.S.

I have two excellent Bookmooch journals in my inventory right now. Never done a BM Journal? It's like a collaborative art project. Each journal has a theme. After you mooch it, you add something to the journal and then put it back on Bookmooch so it can continue its journey. Once it's full, it gets sent back to the original creator of the journal. It's my favourite thing about Bookmooch!

BM JOURNAL: We Don’t Eat Meat: Vegetarian/Vegan Stories, Recipes and Tips

BMJournal A Year of Poetry Journal

Pick a day and add a poem! Or two or three! I loved this one.

Hey everyone, I'm giving away "Order of the Arrow" by Michael T. Hinkemeyer. I thought I'd post it here, in hopes that someone may want it. I'm in the US and would prefer to ship to others in the US. This book is in perfect condition.

The book itself seems decent, though admittedly it's not quite my style. It's a romantic suspense type of piece, and I'm not much on romance :D. I'm sure someone else would like it far more than my self! Thank you!!

Business-Related Books

I've just added the following business type books to my inventory. Because it can be tricky to search for books by topic on Bookmooch, I thought I'd list them here:

Death by Meeting by Patrick Lencioni -- Mooched

Mastering the Rockefeller Habits by Verne Harnish

From Work to Eternity by Graydon G. Watters

Financial Survival for the 21st Century by Graydon G. Watters

The first two books are on multiple wishlists.

Please note that the second two books relate to retirement planning, and are slated towards Canadians. Government regulations for retirement planning are probably different in the rest of the world.

All four books are in excellent condition, and look new.

16geophile
Sep 5, 2009, 5:10 pm

I'm ready to add a few more books to my inventory.

Since these next three are wish-listed books, I thought I'd list them here first, before I add them to my inventory.

Me to We : Finding Meaning in a Material World by Craig Kielburger

Accordion Crimes by E. Annie Proulx

The Haunting by Shirley Jackson

The first book is in very good condition, the other two are in good condition, with a couple of minor defects, which I will itemize in the condition notes when I list them in my inventory.

Am still emptying a few shelves, and I ship worldwide without problem.:

* Philip Pullman: The Golden Compass and the Subtle Knife. Two paperbacks in relatively good condition. A tiny tear on the front cover of the Golden compass.

* C. J. Sansom: 2 Tudor mysteries, with "Sovereign" and "Revelation". Second hand books, ok condition.

* Kate Elliott: Spirit Gate, fantasy. Good condition.

* Kate Mosse : Labyrinth. Good condition.

* Elizabeth Gilbert: Eat, Pray, Love. This one is on about 300 hundred wishlists (I was amazed when I looked that up on BM!)

* Lynn Flewelling : The Bone Doll's Twin. Good condtion.

I have some young fiction books and romance book, historical and comtemp..

Examples of books i have:

Meg Cabot How to Be Popular

Cara Lockwood I Do (But I Don't)

Carole Wilkinson Dragon Keeper

Takashi Matsuoka Cloud of Sparrows

USA/CANADA/MEXICO POSTAL CODES ONLY (sorry)

I gather this book is valuable, but it was my birthday yesterday and I only paid a quarter for this, so...

I just picked up a hardcover copy of Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are at the local thrift store! It's not exactly in gift-quality condition since there are a couple small tears to the jacket, but there are no marks inside at all and it's been well-cared for (the binding is still good).

I'll reserve this copy for the first qualifying BM member to reply in this thread, add it to my BookMooch inventory this week, and mail it out next Wednesday.

----This offer is now closed since I received a request for the book.

For those of you who are intrigued by the history of the twentieth century, I have a book available which reveals the diplomatic and political activities in the White House from December 1941 to April 1945. It is the story of President Roosevelt and his most trusted adviser, Harry L. Hopkins. Mr. Hopkins began as a political adviser during Roosevelt's election campaigns. He held no government office, had no official title, collected no salary from the government, did not even own a home. He did, however, have his own bedroom in the White House and the ear, and the trust, of the most powerful man on earth. All during the war he served as the personal envoy of President Roosevelt to foreign leaders and governments, and did not report to, or answer to, the U.S. State Department. He did this despite the fact that he was slowly dying of stomach cancer. When he was journeying to Britain on a British battleship to consult with Prime Minister Churchill, the ship's doctor confined him to bed for the entire trip due to exhaustion. The name of the book is 'Roosevelt and Hopkins; an Intimate History' (1948). This is a fascinating story. Mr. Hopkins died in 1947, his great contributions to the struggle known to few.

I have some romance and YA/kids books taking up much needed shelf space. It needs a new home.

I also have a green-and-white Penguin Classic Crime edition (1987, I think) of Margery Allingham's Police at the Funeral, slightly battered but very readable. Condition is as follows:

Paperback, slightly dog eared, and considerable creasing on front cover and spine. Otherwise clean.

Due to the weight of this book I can only send it by sea mail from Australia. This means it could take anywhere between 3-4 months to arrive at most overseas destinations.

Has anyone here read the book That Summer by Sarah Dessen? I need some help for a school project. 6 household objects to symbolize the book. Please help me!

Thanks

"That Summer" by Sarah Dessen is like an iron, because it's heavy and flat and contains irony.

It's also like a kettle, except that you can't put water in it and it doesn't whistle.

...i got nothing.

Currently, only about 250,000 books are available on BookMooch. Has its ever been (much) more?

Not very many books so far, I'm afraid - resorting all my books out and starting my inventory again from scratch. http://bookmooch.com/inventory/lydiathinks. A bunch of books, UK-only unless overseas people want to mooch multiple books.

Does anyone want these books? I thought I would try book mooch instead of abandoning my books at the nearby bus stop.

Harold Brodkey The Runaway Soul
Tracy Chevalier Falling Angels: A Novel
Michael Cunningham The Hours: A Novel
Jostein Gaarder Sophie's World: A Novel About the History of Philosophy
Amy Tan The Hundred Secret Senses
Wharton The Reef

Edwin, for counting purposes, Dan Brown, John Gresham and James Patterson's books are omitted since they constitute half of all the books in existence.

I'm going to be listing books 2-8 of Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series but I'm scared of having my email box swamped so I'm going to be reserving them as I list them.

I'd prefer not to send more than two to each person just because the shipping costs would skyrocket once I hit three books.

So if anyone wants a reservation or two, please leave me a message on my profile with the titles you want. :D

I wasn't going to list them originally, but I picked one up to read again today and sadly it's just not as enjoyable the second time around, unlike the other books in my collection.

EDIT: 2, 3, 5, and 6 are gone!

Most of the books I've posted recently have already been mooched, but I added The Fleet Book One edited by David Drake & Bill Fawcett last week (it contains stories by Janet Morris, John Brunner, Bill Fawcett, Jody Lynn Nye, Margaret Weis, Robert Sheckley, Steve Perry, E. Gary Gygax, Poul Anderson, Anne McCaffrey, and David Drake)

93: Of course, the day AFTER I buy book 8! Sadly, I know what you mean about them just not being the same the second time around. Still good, but my memory made them much much better.

I have a copy of The Nonesuch by Georgette Heyer to list. ISBN 0553253824. It's a 1990 paperback with a little bit of waviness to the pages. There are a few stains on the outer edges and the pages are slightly yellowed, but the binding is still good and there are plenty of reads left in it! A good reading copy. Drop me a note on my profile and I'll reserve it for you.

And while I'm here, here's my inventory: http://bookmooch.com/m/inventory/wisewoman
