So nobody else spent money, or nobody's owning up to it?
I came home from work one day last week with an ARC -- not the type I usually grab, either, this is a quirky present day novel called Once a Spy by Keith Thomson (who has a truly interesting CV).
And yesterday I made a fairly small purchase including Songlines magazine, the Doctor Who DVD "Waters of Mars," and the following books:
* The Art and Craft of Writing Historical Fiction by James Alexander Thom (linking the author's name since this brand new book seems to have stumped LT)
* The Bliss Factor by Penny McCall (I think I own every slightly screwballish romantic suspense novel she's written now - this one may be quirkier than the rest)

#1: Ha! Neither really. I usually forget to post my new buys, because I'm more focused on cataloguing them into my library than anything else. But I'll go through my "Add Books" tab real quick and see if I can remember everything I've bought and was bought for me this past week:
Juvenile/YA
* Wild Magic by Tamora Pierce (fantasy)
* Fade Out by Rachel Caine (paranormal/vampires)
* Forbidden Dance: Volume 1 by Hinako Ashihara (drama/manga)
* Gothic!: Ten Original Dark Tales edited by Deborah Noyes (horror anthology)
* Away Laughing on a Fast Camel by Louise Rennison (gift--yes! love this series) {drama/romance-y}
Horror
* The 13th by John Everson
* Queen of Blood by Bryan Smith
* The Last Call of Mourning by Charles L. Grant
* You Come When I Call You by Douglas Clegg
Romance
* Moongazer by Marianne Mancusi (action/sci fi)
I bought some other media junk (CDs & DVDs), but I'd be here forever if I listed everything. I'll try to post more often here (when I can remember, that is!).
#1 again: Thanks for mentioning Penny McCall. I've never heard of her, but "slightly screwballish romantic suspense" sounds like something I'd read. Hope it's good! :)

I haven't bought anything in about a month, but I've gone a bit nuts on PBS and BookMooch to make up for it. I tried to post a list, but it was so long, I think it broke the touchstones. Let's just say this month has probably been a record month for books coming into my house.

#5: LOL @ breaking the touchstones. I know how that goes. That's a good thing, imo, especially when it comes to finding new books.
Purchases by me:
* Viking It and Liking It by Jon Scieszka (kids adventure series)
* The Dashwood Sisters' Secrets of Love by Rosie Rushton (YA chick lit)
* In the Hand of the Goddess and The Woman Who Rides Like a Man by Tamora Pierce (YA fantasy series)
Gifts:
* The Dancing Cats of Applesap by Janet Taylor Lisle
* One-Eyed Cat by Paula Fox

Oh good, I'm glad I'm not the only person ever to break the touchstones. LOL The weird thing is that I edited my post, but my touchstones (the ones that worked) are still in the touchstone list.
I think I'll try breaking it up into two posts and see if that works. It might duplicate my touchstones though.
So here goes, my BookMooch books:
Thief's Gamble
City of Diamond
Harmony: Brides for All Seasons
Tower of Ravens
When Elephants Weep
Stronghold
Skybowl
Fabric of the Cosmos
Postmarked the Stars
Catseye
Marriage Spell
Bartered Bride
Tightwad Gazette II
Firebirds
Return to Avalon
Flora Segunda
Bishop's Heir
Sorcery Rising
Right Dog for You
Maximum Ice
Ancestors of Avalon

#7-8: Awesome buys! I've read some of Marion Zimmer Bradley's Sword and Sorceress books; they're pretty good.
I'll add my buys from yesterday later on. (not @ home @ the moment)

Hello, fellow book lovers!
At the library used book sale a couple of weeks ago, I purchased:
The Family Under the Bridge by Natalie Carlson
Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Eleanor Coerr
The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams
A Royal Affair by Stella Tillyard
The Shipping News by E. Annie Proulx
Goodnight Nobody by Jennifer Weiner
Hotel Pastis by Peter Mayle
The Monsters of Templeton by Lauren Groff
The Loving Spirit by Daphne du Maurier
A Mislaid Magic by Joyce Windsor
Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
Amsterdam by Ian McEwan
The Jewel Trader of Pegu by Jeffrey Hantover
All Shall Be Well And All Shall Be Well And All Shall Be Well by Tod Wodicka
Miss Pinkerton by Mary Roberts Rhinehart
all for the princely sum of $6.75!
I also purchased Sade's new CD and 1001 Children's Books You Must Read Before You Grow Up online for a total of $11.36 (thank you, gift cards and coupons), which isn't too bad overall. Oh, and (very badly) I'm now downloading about $35 worth of music from iTunes. That's not so great, but Lord knows I've been much worse much more often in the past.
Whew! Glad I got that in before March starts! Great buys, everyone!

#11: Library used book sales--I love those things! We have a couple coming up next month, so hopefully I'll have more to post then. Glad you got so much for so little. :) And that's so strange that you should mention The Velveteen Rabbit. I ran across a copy when I was out book shopping (one of those messages above; I can't remember which), but passed it up because I thought I already had a copy. I don't. D'oh!
I didn't know Sade was still putting music out. I have her greatest hits CD and am pretty content with that, though I'll have to look around for her newer stuff when I can.
1001 Children's Books--That's one I've been wanting to thumb through for a long time now, but I feel it might make me want to try reading all of them (which is simply impossible, imho).
